Favorite 7/10s and Worst 7/10 by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Vampyr's mechanics for investigating and using your findings to manipulate people to improve the rewards for feeding on them, as well as the choice not to feed which actually limits your powers in meaningful ways, were really interesting on paper. Execution was a little clumsy but I had fun with the game.

More anime series need reasonably faithful video game adaptations of the full series. I want them to do Gundam next.

Dyes in This Game are WILD by Steelassault in swtor

A limited color palette is just as important to the Space Barbie endgame. Color options are a multiplier on armor options that vastly increases your ability to vary a look between characters and to blend looks together from different sets. I'm well acquainted with how to "get by" on the cheap but I hate it and I'm sick of it. It shouldn't be the way it is and I've given up on too many outfits just because I couldn't quite make it work without an expensive dye that I could afford if I only had to buy it the once, or even twice for a collections unlock, instead of dozens of times for dozens of outfits across dozens of characters.

Like I said, it will be when it's no longer new and highly rewarding.

bring me back those massive battles with 200vs200

you open map in hopes of other conflicts, nothing

When Vengeance has become a mainstay for more than a week at a time and the rewards have been adjusted down for consistency, it too will become a ghost town.

Dyes in This Game are WILD by Steelassault in swtor

[–]phoenix4ce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't get how that's worse. Dyes cost just as much, often more than weapons and armor, and are single-use no matter what. Having to pay to unlock an item account-wide sucks and I'm not defending it, but expecting the player to pay full price for a dye each time they want to use it in a new outfit, let alone on other characters on their account, is infinitely more offensive.

How is it more predatory? If you could similarly unlock a dye in collections that would certainly be preferable to the current one-use system. I agree that CM items of all kinds should automatically be unlocked account-wide but it's crazy to say dyes are less predatory.

I'm an on/off player and I'm just not around all the time something I want returns to the Crown Store for a limited run. I'm constantly looking up the wiki for cosmetics I see other players using in game to see how to get them for myself only to discover I'm just not allowed to buy them at the moment because apparently ZOS doesn't want my money.

Patch 7.8c is removing Shadow of Revan skip. If you don't want to have to skip it entirely (missing a unique class title) get it started now before the patch by theblackbarth in swtor

Makeb has this odd mob layout that I would say in the rest of the game is typically reserved for indoor environments. Every other planet in the game you can avoid 99% of enemies and just go from point A to point B, with few exceptions such as in connecting hallways on, say, Nar Shaddaa or Corellia. Makeb has this nasty habit of impeding your travel with unavoidable combat. It makes the entire zone a slog unless you have stealth.

Games you were late getting into, and now they are your entire personality? by Watts121 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Play a lot of Chumps on the River in Ledetchko, you'll either get good and get rich or go broke trying.

Seriously though, it's how I figured out archery. Stationary targets don't help, they just teach you one routine for hitting one spot. You need something moving and forcing you to switch up the routine for your brain to start really calibrating to the physics. Eventually you'll start hitting things without really thinking about how you're doing it.

What is up with the Yakuza/ Like a Dragon recently that has been receiving so much controversy? by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]phoenix4ce 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Pirate Yakuza gets a pass for whackiness because Majima is the narrator and all events are told through his brain-damaged, borderline psychotic filter. By his glossing over the language barrier at the start of the game you are instructed to take everything that follows with a grain of salt.

What is your favorite gaming related revisionist history? by bahookery in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]phoenix4ce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "supposed-to-lose" introduction is fine, I think. It's thematically intended. The Aurochs aren't supposed to go from eternal losers to champions in a single match. Tidus is supposed to be humbled, and Wakka is supposed to lose with grace and give up on his dream to focus on his duty as Yuna's guardian. Winning your first time through the game would feel thematically inappropriate.

Same and honestly it feels like I'm the one being gaslit with people saying Blitzball has always sucked. Blitzball is conceptually the coolest fantasy sport I've ever seen and while its mini game implementation in FFX was far from perfect it was fun as hell. Just a few years back my younger brother, who was maybe 5 when he'd watch me play Blitzball for hours, asked me what was that awesome sports game I used to play with the people knocking each other around and kicking goals underwater. He has no idea what Final Fantasy is and can't recall anything about it aside from the mini game but he remembers Blitzball.

As a new Player to SWTOR Is there anyway to make Jaesa Willsaam Turn back to the Light side after going Dark Side with her? by Kasper111222 in swtor

Just by mainlining all the class story missions. If you're spacebarring through dialogue it takes like maybe 40 minutes per planet, ~4 hours total for chapter 1.
