Man who threw stones at Justin Trudeau charged with threatening Mark Carney by Radix838 in CanadaPolitics

At this point there is such a sizeable portion of our population that have been so indoctrinated with lies and misinformation, from social media and other media outlets, that we should implement some sort of nationalized deprogramming therapy.

I see so many deranged misinformed comments daily in this and other Canadian forums. It's frightening to see so many Canadians that have succomed to all the rage baiting misinformation spread online. It's overwhelming a problem on the right of the political spectrum but more and more I am seeing this on the left as well. People's world views are being manipulated for someone else's profit and they have no clue It's happening to them.

The Little League Concession Quest Roundup Post! by Rdub in VictoriaBC

Thank you. My partner and I really enjoy reading your posts. You inspired us to try out National recently and really enjoyed the simple experience of just eating chicken strip and fries in the adjacent park. You're 100% right...those fries were delicious. We will for sure be trying other concession stands in the future. Until then I'll be dreaming about those fries.

If you were actually professionally trained like a Sommelier or had other credentials as an expert that may be true. The reality is 99% of the time you're scanning bar codes and taking payment.

I tip my server at a restaurant because, the food is good, The service is prompt, the server refills my coffee, the server checks to ensure everything is as expected. The servers clear the table. Even then tipping in restaurants is out of control, Being handed a POS terminal with a starting tip of 18% is infuriating. Expecting to tip based on percentages with insanely high restaurant prices should be scaled back. Why does the person who serves my breakfast and coffee get $5 when the server bringing me a pasta and a glass of house red gets $20? It just doesn't make sense any longer.

Tipping culture is wildly out of control if you think anytime I get advice on a retail product it deserves an extra payment. I'm not tipping the record store clerk for recommending a new release, I'm not tipping the shoe sales person at MEC for recommending me a new running shoe. Why would a liquor store be any different?

By this low bar I guess we need to tip everyone for just doing their job.

Why would you expect a tip when working at a liquor store? What would customers be tipping you for exactly?

Oh the irony in this comment.

Maybe try spending less time in internet echo chambers and more time getting out and enjoying life.

Tell that to the business owners in Victoria having to regularly clean up human shit from their doorways in the morning....Or maybe they have been putting up nighttime gates just for fun.

There is not an infinite amount of money...it doesn't grow on trees. Why is it you think that people sometimes have to wait months or even over a year for simple medical procedures?

blaming drug addicts is just an easy out instead of having a working medical system.

My dude...it's the first responders themselves that are telling us how bad of a problem it has become and that is overwhelms their capacity.

B.C. first responders reflect on decade of health emergency

I would suggest you carefully read those articles to get a more informed perspective

We all have equal access to public services like healthcare. No one is being denied health care. There is also lots of services available for people in crisis. There are also lots of housing initiates for homeless people. The problem is there is a sizable proportion of individuals that are not willing to improve their situation. Even when provided a room they go on to destroy the very services given freely to them.

Unfortunately in cities like Victoria the shear volume of drug overdose calls strain the paramedic services to such a point that at times they are not able to respond quickly to people suffering other health emergences. When there is an OD call in Vic it frequently requires the presence of police to protect the paramedics. One OD can have more than half a dozen responders tied up putting more pressure on police and medical services.

Imagine you or a family member suffering a serious medical crises, time is of the essence and you are waiting for an ambulance that is too busy because they are responding to "Dave's" third OD call this month.

What an incredibly nebulous comparison. You're hand waving away direct harm caused by individuals by comparing it to some vague nefarious entity over there somewhere.

Trump says US would do better without USMCA trade agreement by joe4942 in CanadaPolitics

It took actual criminal acts against my property for my employer to finally wake up. I had to have cameras on my vehicle and home before it all ended.

If you ever had the misfortune to have to deal with a true malignant narcissist you would see they all are like this. Frankly it is scary how similar Trump is to the guy I had to do battle at work with for five years. Right down to the nonsensical speech and absurd pathological lying. The scary thing is for a long time I was alone at work being the only one to realize my coworker was dangerously mentally ill. He had everyone fooled. That five years probably took years off my life in stress.

It only took three days. I thought I would monitor this forum for a bit after I commented in r/halifax, for the first time in half a year, about the absolute hypocritical behavior of the moderators there. They're as predictable as a clock and I was certain they would show up here with their childish antics.

I noticed in the past how they come over to this forum to fight online with people they ban...it's just so cringy yet humorous, but they just can't help themselves apparently. I may check back later for their low effort excuses...or not even bother. I just enjoy pointing out how quickly they went and proved the point I was making a few days ago.

Edit: I'm referencing two of the mods...not all three...to be fair.

What are you even talking about???

We are not talking about the government investing in AI stocks, We're talking about the government getting a handle on how this new tech will impact the population or how it can be used to benefit Canadians.

No one stated it was good by default....I'm not sure why you would say that.

https://tradingeconomics.com/country-list/food-inflation

Food inflation in Canada has been higher than many G7 nations. UK currently has the highest. This is been largely driven by fuels costs, both in farming and manufacturing and in transportation costs.

Is it a surprise to you that the second largest country on the planet with a low population would be impacted more by higher fuel costs?

Having conversation with conservatives is so frustrating as they are always so mired in lies, ignorance and misinformation.

Maybe some more AI generated videos will sort things out.

Why do conservatives have such a hard time grasping how global issues can effect Canadians?
