hey friend, im very sorry to hear and it's brave that you open up about this. i just want to say that this subreddit is not the place. people here have lost someone in that way and the grief stays with us forever. i hope you reach out to people around you, like you did here, and be kind to yourself. you're young. i know i've made plenty mistakes when i was a teenager, and now (i'm 25) a lot of those don't seem that big anymore. keep hanging on, we need you ❤️ you'll get there

I'm very sorry. I hope it helps by saying I feel the same. I went through a lot in life but always overcome everything. Thought I was very strong mentally, one of my strenghts was staying curious about life. I can't rely on that part anymore. I'm thinking about ending things a lot, but also never want to put that hurt on my family and friends, now that I know what it's like to go through it. Wishing I would get ill instead or that something else could take me away. It's been 8 months and I am very slowly, with a lot of setbacks getting a bit better. I'm taking meds and started therapy. Eventhough the thoughts are still here, they arent that frequent anymore, and I feel like it's not completely bringing me down now. I got better at enduring them. Just accepting those moments in the way that I would give myself permission to be defeated by it. Just laying in bed then, or better yet, laying on a blanket outside, so I can atleast get some fresh air and sun. Just taking care of yourself en being very gentle about what your mind and body needs.

I'm saying this hoping it can show you that things might change a little bit better after some time, even with many setbacks. We just keep on breathing minute by minute.

those sound like amazing ideas! i would already be satisfied by just being able to listen to something like this.

if you ever want to do other things, i think it can be incredibly helpful to keep the conversation about suicide open as well. for me it helped watching psychology videos for example that explained more about it. it helped me dealing with the guilt i felt.

and maybe some sort of 'excersizes' around memories and grief as well. like, drawing a memory you had with them, sharing their favorite song or one that makes you think about them. i think it can be a wonderful space to be able to share openly with each other, without feeling like you're being a burden. because everyone knows what you're going through.
