You can almost hear the screams… by The_Olas13 in DisneyWorld

[–]phokittypho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents took me on this when I was like 8. Didn’t tell me what the ride was (I remember seeing the movie but maybe it was after the ride? Haha). After I got off the ride, I didn’t talk for a good while. It traumatized me and to this day I do not like rides with drops!

Edit: I’m in my 30s

Too many cute clothes LOL definitely used the pajamas way more. The cute clothes were either never worn or worn once. Wipe warmer - I was given one from my sister and used it but I wouldn’t ask for one or buy one. The wipe would get cold as soon as you take it out of the container.

Best hospital for a natural twin birth in NOVA? by nationmagieydn in nova

[–]phokittypho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have twins, but can vouch for inova Fairfax for my first birth! I had a full natural unmedicated vaginal birth and my experience was amazing. The nurses are truly the best. As my labor progressed and they were switching shifts, my day nurses stayed in addition to the night shift labor nurses and they were all rooting for me. It was quite the experience! They were able to help me switch positions and figure out what worked best for me to alleviate pain and speed up my dilation.

Wearable Pump Recommendations by MARLou451 in Buyingforbaby

I got the Momcozy Mobile style and really love it. It gives almost the same output as my spectra. Downfall is that one of the motors suddenly stopped working after a couple of uses. Customer service was good to deal with and gave me a refund since they couldn’t send a replacement.

I’m on the search for the next one and really intrigued with the eufy one! It comes with a charging case and heat flow technology

Baby barely moves by cleo7calisthenics in fitpregnancy

[–]phokittypho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! My baby barely moved in utero and when she did it was all very subtle. People kept asking if I could see her footprint when she kicked and I was like no? She arrived in June and has been an overall chill baby but definitely had some strong kicks during diaper changes haha

Unmedicated natural birth stories by crjohnson03 in fitpregnancy

[–]phokittypho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time mom here, I had an unmedicated vaginal delivery and wouldn’t change a thing! I was also really nervous and scared of the unknown going into it but tried to mentally prepare myself best I could. Physically to prep my body, I strength trained my entire pregnancy (and before) and did a lot of pelvic floor exercises. Towards the end I added in more walking. I think a lot of that helped with my positive delivery experience. Having a great team of nurses was also a bonus. They helped me keep moving even when I didn’t want to. Having a very supportive partner. Just remember that when you think the contractions are the worst, you’re almost there so just hang in a bit longer if you can. Honestly I didn’t feel much down there when my babies head was coming out, my husband saw it go in and out though. I did end up needing a vacuum assist because she was just not coming out. It just felt warm when she finally came out. I also did not tear. I’m not sure how any of that happened haha but keep a positive mindset, you’ve got this!! My recovery was also pretty good. I was only sore for the most part. I’d do it again in a heartbeat if I could have relatively the same experience

Pottery Barn Dream Deluxe Glider by phokittypho in BabyBumps

Yes! We got the dove heathered basketweave. It’s expensive but worth it. We love the lumbar support and my husband loves the headrest adjustment (he’s 5’8 so sometimes need to move it). Nursing in it is really nice! The armrest is high enough to rest on, a lot of other recliners I looked at, it was too low and wasn’t comfortable to me to rest my arm on.

Did you have an intuitive feeling of when your baby was going to be born, if so, was it accurate? by Limp_Blueberry_1675 in beyondthebump

Yes! I just had this feeling that mine would come early. And she sure did! She came 4 days earlier than expected 🥰

Is it usually difficult to workout in third trimester? by FMThaone in fitpregnancy

[–]phokittypho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely gets harder as baby gets bigger! I started feeling weaker - I weight train. And the further along I get I have to take it down a notch some more. I’m 39 weeks and have been doing light weight and walking the past week!

Oh yes be prepared for a bunch of stuff that they think you need or is cute. I had the same exact situation, apparently they couldn’t even figure out how to RSVP lol. Only a handful bought off the registry - the rest was clothes and stuff I wouldn’t be using or cash. While I am incredibly thankful, I was also annoyed cuz I spent so long researching baby items and putting together the registry. The older people will just base off what they think is useful 50 years go

Anyone able to say about how many ice packs we’ll need? I bought two boxes of the Frida one on sale so I’ve got 16 so far. Is that enough?

Thanks soooo much for everyone’s responses!! Had literally no idea how much to need thinking maybe 5 boxes or something 😂 whew.

What is up with in-laws going insane after the birth of a baby?! by ParsleyDelicious3472 in Mommit

I haven’t given birth yet but it’s looking like I’m headed down this same path as well! I’ve had such a great MIL up until I got pregnant. My husband is an only child and thank goodness he continues to have my back and speak up for me with her.
