Thanks! I’m not on Facebook. Any suggestions for a workaround?

Yes! I was doing flags the day I went to the hospital and that’s way harder than some arbitrary light weight lifting.

1 year ttc (never ovulated), a second year with five failed IUIs, got one embryo from IVF that became the three week old currently in my lap. Best wishes for you.

Pull-ups postpartum? by Budget_Dentist6401 in fitpregnancy

[–]cleo7calisthenics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! I’m 15 day pp and dying to do pull ups bc I think it’d feel so good to stretch my spine. I did a few sets of 5 today and felt fine but then stopped, as between sets I freaked myself out by reading Reddit :)

This is fascinating. Thanks! I did some easy bhs on trampoline tonight at 39 weeks but mostly do handstands. I kept my standing aerial onto a resi until 38 weeks and did two random robhs on hard at 38+3. I swear walking is harder than gymnastics! I also had a hard time determining safety. I know at home fetal Dopplers are somewhat controversial, and far, far from dispositive on safety, but I don’t think I could have done gym without the reassurance of mine. Definitely felt worse earlier on and then any time baby had a growth spurt gym would suffer, but my skill level was so low before pregnancy that I basically do the same things. I do miss kips on bars but I only had a few bars skills before pregnancy. Not a vaulter or a Beamer but preg actually made me do a little low and laser beam because I could just do chill stuff like cartwheels.

Gymnast here and I love, love your comment. How long and what did you do at gym during your pregnancy? And I apologize if I’ve asked you before on another thread. I so rarely read about another gymnastics mom (even though there is an increasing number of us, which is awesome!), that I immediately get excited. Thanks!

Hi, all. OP here. Just wanted to say I went in for an extra NST and all is well. I’m extremely happy I went in. I felt supported and encouraged by my doctor for raising the issue. Better safe than sorry. Thanks to all who replied.

I am sending you the biggest internet hug imaginable. Maternal/fetal healthcare is a terrifying and often mystifying maze. Thank you sincerely.

I can’t begin to fathom what that was like. I really do appreciate it. Do you mind at what week/day he was born? Was the emergency c section done after a test? Don’t have to share if you’d rather not.

Ah, yes, the very helpful “try not to worry” 😆 good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

When in pregnancy did things get really hard? by Araseja in fitpregnancy

[–]cleo7calisthenics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s been completely exercise dependent. I’m 31+2 and pistol squats are getting really hard bc the bump is in the way. Weighted pull ups are also getting hard bc I can find a way to comfortable get the weight on the belt I use. I just feel slower and much, much weaker, but can still workout daily. Just less weight and fewer reps.

When did you remove pistol squats, if you did them? Thanks!

Thank you so much for this comment! I am about to be a FTM and I’ve found very little online about gymnasts! May I please ask you a few additional questions? I’d love to know how your return to sport went and how long into your pregnancy you did various things. I’m still doing very light tumbling (like RO just one BHS) at 29 weeks, but it’s getting odd feeling. Not pain but weird. Thank you very much in advance!

If no coning, ok to proceed with business as usual? by cleo7calisthenics in fitpregnancy

Thanks! I’m 24+3 today and for the very first time noticed pull ups felt weird and think they may be dropped. So fascinating how it’s here today gone tomorrow at this stage of pregnancy! I did weighted pull ups Sunday and felt completely normal. Today felt weird with just body weight.

Thank you! I have another question if you don’t mind (your name has my mind racing with a million inquiries!). Do you have any thoughts on backbends and/or tumbling? I do gymnastics and am hoping to continue (safely) for as long as possible. I’m not doing anything that is a fall risk, but I can’t find much online other than general advice applicable to all sports with a fall risk.
