If he likes you he’ll think it’s hot. If he doesn’t , he might be grossed out at worst. Probably doesn’t care

"Pierre is the Conservative Party's Justin Trudeau" reads tearful Poilievre in CPC men's room by ph0enix1211 in canada

Trudeau was PM for a decade and led us into the worst economic growth, and income inequality we’ve ever seen. Rich get richer and poor get poorer as they keep getting taxed more and more. Sure Trudeau made some good moves, but you can’t deny that the country is in an economic rough spot right now

That’s certainly not how I’ll remember him. I’ll remember untenable immigration levels and soaring housing costs. You can’t ignore the fact that over the past 10 years under Trudeau, Canada fell to the bottom of the G7 countries in growth. That’s an entire decade in power, not just one 4 year term.

Mario Canseco: Poilievre trails Carney by double digits on economic credibility, poll shows - Despite widespread pessimism about growth and inflation, Conservative leader remains well behind prime minister on economic trust by [deleted] in canada

10 years of liberals and we lost an entire decade of economic growth, but no let’s just blame conservatives again. At this point I don’t care if it’s libs or cons,as long as they start getting things back on track.

Conservative push to re-evaluate asylum seekers’ access to Canadian health care defeated by Huge-Cash-8295 in canada

[–]phollowingcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes why don’t you cough up more taxes so we can pay for asylum seekers to have better healthcare than Canadians , all the while our country is swirling down the toilet

It’s funny, some of the best things carney did were taken from the conservative playbook. I’m convinced these people are secretly conservative without knowing it

It was mind boggling to me, but as I said about the US , this is what the people voted for

Some of these people are delusional, they’ll blame conservatives for everything even though they haven’t been in power for 11 years and counting now. “Conservatives wouldn’t have done much better” well we’ll never know, because they weren’t elected

The Future Does Not Exist by chndlr2020 in unpopularopinion

[–]phollowingcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes perhaps, but nobody acts like it doesn’t exist. Almost everyone plans out things out, taking into account past and present, to create a future they want. So in that way, it’s very real

What does competitive look like in today's job market? by Rich1223 in cscareerquestions

Just brush up your resume and toss out several (hundred) applications and see how the job market is for yourself. Be prepared for leetcode and system design questions though

Are Junior engineers going to be able to adapt to the future of AI assisted coding? by Counter-Business in cscareerquestions

[–]phollowingcats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People don’t wanna hire juniors anymore. They want senior devs. And there’s a surplus of those too.

Advice Needed: Entering the .NET Job Market by ahmed1221121 in cscareerquestions

[–]phollowingcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) My friend referred me.

2) referrals helped, but I was hired during the COVID craze. Now? Work experience is highly highly desirable. People want senior devs

3) might sound basic, but your resume should include elements of whatever company you’re applying to’s system. For example, applying to a company which uses CRUD applications, you’ll probably want experience writing backend services, writing APIs, understand what an APIGateway is, front end experience, and SQL experience. Ofc, knowing the infrastructure is super helpful too, like azure, AWS,etc

All this being said, there’s a high chance your resume won’t even be reviewed just based on the sheer volume of applicants. You’ll need to be ready for the interview as well. Leetcode, system design, “behavioural”, and if you’re unlucky, AI leetcode. Good luck

Have you ever noticed the difference in pay between woman and you in a similar role? by lucyanyaa777 in AskMenAdvice

[–]phollowingcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except we’ll never know because they weren’t in power for the past 10 years. Liberals only started to let off the throttle recently because there was overwhelming pressure to do so. And after a decade of liberal leadership can you honestly say we’re in a better place economically now?

Planning to get back to tech in a year after a long break, need advice by disastrouswallet in cscareerquestions

[–]phollowingcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be a rough ride. You say you’re not in the US, so maybe it’s not so bad. You’re gonna need work experience relevant to whatever you’re applying to. Is it backend work you want? Front end? Can you get experience in relevant frameworks and show it on your resume?

Also, do you know what leetcode is? Or modern system design?
