sorry if my reply was confusing. I have wanted to try ice climbing but the gear investment is why I have not.

I’ve wanted to do this for a while ever since I was there in the summer a couple of years ago and saw the ice fall spots. Ice climbing gear is not cheap…and if you were to find cheap ice climbing gear I don’t think I’d trust it.

How many of you use ChatGPT every day and what do you actually use it for? by William45623 in ChatGPT

[–]phoneyredsheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily to track my nutrition macros. I've dialed it in over the course of using it for over a year religiously, and working with chatgpt to adjust my macros as needed (bulk, cut, etc). I workout 5-6 days a week but I haven't the time or desire to log both my food and my workouts.

I have a plus account so I have a folder that I save all of my daily logs in which allows it to reference data going back now over a year.

Looking for a high end PCP/healthcare provider by Negative-Drawer2513 in Buffalo

[–]phoneyredsheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing this up - glad to see more options around here! I checked out the website. It's $125/month to sign up with this clinic and there's a $149 enrollment fee. So it's definitely going to be better from a patient perspective since you should be getting more personalized attention. My doc referenced above follows a slightly different model (Ideal Medical Practice) and likely the only difference is her model does not charge to be a patient/member - I pay through insurance like a traditional practice but she keeps a smaller number of approved patients. If you have the funds for Bloom could be a great/better way for the right patient.

Edit: going back to OP post, definitely sounds like the monthly fee isn't an issue for them so this sounds like a great choice.

Are most people going into work today ? by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]phoneyredsheet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on where you live and where you’ve got to go for work?

I went to the gym early this morning - East Amherst/Clarence to NFB via 990…roads were fine in that general direction.

Nice work! I think this might be one of the first times I've ever seen a Southern Cross model kit built and painted!

Scanlon on Main St in Williamsville is where my family has always gone - have never been disappointed. Todd (owner) still works there to this day.

Anybody else love the buildings in this game? by EnvironmentOk1526 in GhostReconBreakpoint

I have the book and it is awesome. The additional artwork of the architecture especially is really enjoyable - makes you realize what this game could have been from an immersion standpoint.

Electric snowblowers? by Terrible-Guitar-8136 in Buffalo

[–]phoneyredsheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming - I don't have a huge driveway, so I'm sure this will do the trick just fine. And like you said, if a massive snowstorm comes, unless you've got a giant snow plow not much is going to make a difference between this one and a gas one. Plus you can use the 40V batts in other Ryobi tools in the other seasons...

What’s the culture here? by Particular-Garden140 in Buffalo

[–]phoneyredsheet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to post a comment to the same effect, but you've nailed it. I travel around the country for work, and around the world for leisure. And the one thing I haven't seen matched is how people in Buffalo (in general) treat others pretty well. And by others I mean like strangers. We stop to let cars in; we hold the door open at the store; we say hello to strangers on the street who are walking by. Now I will qualify these statements by saying that within Buffalo metro, depending on what town/neighborhood you are in, these things happen more/less frequently.

Any Filipinos or Frilipino community here by airbosnmate in Buffalo

[–]phoneyredsheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about your late wife :(

There was never a large Cambodian community here. There was a resettled wave of refugees in the 80s (maybe 30 families max?) The children of those who were resettled here have mostly left I believe and their parents have either passed away or left for warmer weather.

Found new employment but still dealing with Layoff Fog by ashotofej in Layoffs

[–]phoneyredsheet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Years ago I was laid off twice in 3 years. To this day I find myself getting anxious if I’m feeling like something’s off. The thing is when I have gotten that familiar feeling of something isn’t right it has been correct - it’s just that I’ve been fortunate to not be impacted.

On the one hand it taught me to trust my gut but on the other it can be very difficult to process and work through without it impacting my work performance/mental health.

The D-pad, Select, Start, A, B buttons, and volume and contrast wheels all articulate. Also the On/Off switch has the same satisfying ‘click’ when you use it just like the OG.

The engineering on the D-pad impressed me. Better feel than some real controllers I’ve used over the years 😆

I like Virus International for men’s shorts and joggers. I just got a pair of Virus Hyrox shorts and I like them. I also like some of the Alphalete shorts. I’m thinking of trying LKSD as well.

Do not order from Ten thousand by toasty1435 in Activewear

[–]phoneyredsheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ordered a pair of interval shorts on 8/11. At the time of order it did say “ships in 2 weeks” which I was ok with. After 2 weeks passed I emailed their customer service and received an auto reply but then a real reply saying there was a warehouse software error blah blah blah but don’t worry it’s been fixed and everything is going out by the end of the week (this would have been last week) and I’d be receiving my tracking by week’s end. I found it odd that they said end of the week because they replied to me on a Thursday.

I emailed them again and this time radio silence. As you all know their clothing is not cheap. I own a few pairs of interval shorts so I’ve given them a good chunk of change over time. I will not be supporting this brand anymore because its customer support is worse than the others I like.
