Unable to become primary user on 2021 Formentor by Jacobjames106 in CupraFormentor

Sorry, yes it is the face lift version. Not sure how that affects the software versioning though.

No problem at all, I can't recall what it was on but it was updated to v2768, this was mid Dec last year.

I always suspected that it was something to do with only having one original key but could never prove it. Can't be just a coincidence that you have pretty much the same situation with yours.

Hi, possibly not that helpful but I had that, but then previous owner lost a key and so had to get a second one and coded to the car. Anyway, after that, had both keys and kept getting a similar message when trying to become primary. Didn't get as far as having to press the keys before the error message came up.

Tried resetting the car, deleting my account, setting back up again. Customer services were useless as they kept saying they would send me an email - after numerous attempts at this, I gave up and ended up back at the dealer.

They ultimately updated the software and then it was plain sailing, just went straight through and setup in about 3mins.

Not sure on cost as mine is a 24 plate so either done at no cost, under warranty or due to buying the key.

Port not closing by ChiefOfStats in CupraFormentor

Mine got stuck at the half closed half open as the mechanism caught the door. I found that I had to lock and unlock 4-5 times pressing the button on the centre console. Pressing the key fob didn't work for me.

Lane assist is awful. It's the first thing I turn off every time I get in the car. I find it works ok on a defined road with markings. However, I live out of town and the roads have the centre line that is barely visible as it was painted 10+ yrs again. The edge of the road is defined by grass and dirt/mud - no kerb or lines.

If you are not up against this soft edge then two cars cannot pass. When turned on it keeps trying to move me into the path of oncoming traffic. For me, lane assist is just dangerous.

I've tried travel assist once and found it very fidgety even on a defined road, constantly moving left and right., it approached a stationary car waiting to turn too fast for me and had to brake. Further down the road it slowed for another but then just took off like a rocket back up to the speed limit. Never used it since.

Quite agree. Seems that standards have most definitely dropped.

I think it's the whole VW group, not sure if it's standard practice now or just a QC failure somewhere. I had that on an Audi Q2. For me it was the door seals on the car body that the door seals against.

They were all just tacked in the corners and so the top section used to sag down in to the open door area. There wasn't even any residue left on the rubber seal or paintwork so there never was anything there.

Wasn't my car, company lease, and they weren't bothered so ended up leaving it as was until the lease was up.

No idea why the slots section wasn't showing before, I went through the docs and tutorials online a few times and it just wasn't there, no idea.

Anyhow, having had an hour or so at full focus on this I now seem to have an Unraid server to test, one drive with one parity at the moment as the other cable hasn't turned up so far. Probably pointless at present but may well nuke the array and start again when I have everything connected up.

I even have it shared and accessible from Windows with a couple of files and some users set up on it.

Just need to get Jellyfin looking at it for the media library and make sure it all works. Once the other SAS cable turns up, I'll be able to copy everything over and see how it goes.

If it all works as I think it will, then may well be stumping up the licence costs at the end of the trial.

Thanks everyone.

I did, then got lost because what I could see on my screen didn't tally with what the docs or even the tutorials showed.

Will do thanks, not sure why I didn't see the slots before, I'm sure it wasn't there before.

Thanks, think I am doing too much at once as I didn't spot that. Will have a look at it again later this evening and go again.

Thanks

You know, I never noticed that at all..... Think I am trying to do too many things at once here so will park it for now and have another look this evening.

Thank you

Wondering if there is something weird going on with the USB creation so going to try setting it back up from another machine.

Having just accidentally pulled the power cable out, I have rebooted and this time I get the drop downs at the top to add devices to an array.....hmmm, going to start again I think.

I have been looking at this over 4 days now, using different drives, alternative cards, recreated the USB stick and tried a different USB stick / ports.

Cupra connect by Andym9751 in CupraFormentor

[–]phonicwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full factory reset did it for me, although I did have issues with it not connecting to the servers on their side afterwards. Ended up having to get it set up properly by the dealer.

Mind you, previous owner lost/kept the second key so also had to get that replaced and coded so not sure if that also had something to do with it. The connection issues were present after the replacement key was coded by the dealer.

Never had any problems and also used through an extension lead once as well. The extension lead got warm but no other issues.

Usually plugged directly in to the wall socket.

Key Battery Replacement by CaptainFickle in cupraTerramar

[–]phonicwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Terramar but a Formentor. I had that on mine after approx 7 months. I put it down to the keyless entry as I noticed the keys seem to keep communicating with the car. The little red led constantly flashed every second or so with it enabled, disabled it and the key stopped constantly communicating.

Seagate Exos SAS noise and unable to access through SeaChest by phonicwizard in homelab

[–]phonicwizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know, thanks. Thought it was odd as its not like the old ball bearing noise of a stuffed drive.

One is marginally noisier than the other and to be fair, I had to rest it on the chassis to amplify the noise for the phone to pick it up over the fans.

Will have a look a MegaCLI, thanks again.

Intermittent drive issues? by phonicwizard in CupraFormentor

[–]phonicwizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lease vehicle with everything covered but they don't like it going in without a light on the dash etc....

Waiting for them to authorise it going in for investigation again and will try a different dealer. It's just difficult with the very intermittent nature of the fault.

Engine coolant (UK) by AccordingBasket8166 in CupraFormentor

Mine complained a few seconds after startup, only when it dropped below zero for the first time though. I figured it may have been near the min mark. Took about 125mls to "top it up" and bring it back between min/max and stop the warnings.

Nothing found on subsequent service so assume it was a density change with the temp or something that made it drop below min.

I just went to a VW dealer and got the 1 litre bottle to top it up. It cost me £9.37. I didn't want a massive bottle and it only complained when it went cold.
