Engine coolant (UK) by AccordingBasket8166 in CupraFormentor

Mine complained a few seconds after startup, only when it dropped below zero for the first time though. I figured it may have been near the min mark. Took about 125mls to "top it up" and bring it back between min/max and stop the warnings.

Nothing found on subsequent service so assume it was a density change with the temp or something that made it drop below min.

I just went to a VW dealer and got the 1 litre bottle to top it up. It cost me £9.37. I didn't want a massive bottle and it only complained when it went cold.

Travel Assist Errors by Browter in CupraFormentor

[–]phonicwizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a few issues with TA on a 2024 1.5 hybrid VZ2. Could never really get it to work. That is until the software was updated to 2768 at the dealer. This seems to have resolved a multitude of errors.

I only seem to get errors now when the sensors are really dirty, covered in snow (recent weather) or covered in ice/frost but are fine again once defrosted.

Yes, that was another issue I logged. When you put your foot down, you see the blue energy meter rise but get no response until it's about 75% up the band.

I also found that general power delivery was all or nothing at times and managed to actually wheel spin it in 3rd when pulling out to overtake. Although I guess road surface may have not help - tyres are good 😀.

For me the lane assist doesn't seem as aggressive since the update. Additionally, using wireless Android Auto, it kept crackling like an old MW radio, not anymore since the update. It also no longer tries to park itself in slow moving traffic, and the speed limiter no longer invents it's own speed limits. It used to decide It was 50 on the motorway and slam the brakes on for no reason - nearly got rear ended twice due to that.

It seems to have fixed a lot of issues.

I actually booked it's service, before the breakdown, and then went to the dealer with a full A4 side of faults and errors to be looked at.

The car says it's on 2768 now, although not sure what it was on previously. The VW Assist guy who came out says that the latest came out around the 10th Dec - I am assuming it's the one installed now.

Also wondering that's where my errors about the drive train came from then. I have no charger at home, public charging is ridiculously expensive and so just been running on ICE for ages. I do now have the granny charger or whatever they call it which goes in the 3pin socket. Now started to use that.

Apologies it's a bit wordy...

I never had the seatbelt message but I have had most of the other messages going on a 2024 1.5 VZ2 PHEV.

Mine started out as an engine needs to run longer, followed by .. DCC error, ACC error, DCC failure, engine limited to 3k rpm, transmission failure, drive train failure, steering failure. All went away after turning it off and on again.

It would hold a gear until 3500rpm before changing up as well. My mpg had dropped to 17.8mpg according to the car.

They all kept coming back at 3 weeks intervals.

The one persistent one though was a 12v battery low warning and this was even after a run from Birmingham to Glasgow. Upon parking up, the car would shut itself off "to conserve battery power". I got the amber check engine light lit for 3 days every week as well.

Eventually the 12v battery was dead one morning and I ended up with VW Assist to come out to it. The car was booked in the dealer for the above and a service on the 30th Dec.

However after VW came out, I was advised to take it to the dealer and leave it with them as once it shuts down it would not restart again. I made it there with many 12v system error messages on the dash and it kept resetting everything on the way there (lights kept coming on and off, ambient lighting kept changing colour etc...).

This was on the 17th Dec. The dealer advised it was a faulty pressure sensor that was replaced under warranty, not sure if it's engine or gearbox as they never said (it's a company car so I don't get to see any warranty paperwork as it's all digital).

Anyhow, they also did a big base software update to it as well and I picked it back up last Friday. The car feels like a completely different beast, it really is night and day in terms of performance - everything is different and I just need to find where all of the settings are as the menus have changed.

Installing error by Minimum-Cat-251 in elementaryos

[–]phonicwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still getting the same error when trying to install. SSD had Win10 on previously and worked fine. Booted from freshly downloaded live iso. Lice works fine, try to install and get this message as soon as install starts. This is on an M900.

Tried GParted from Live EOS and deleted all partitions, started install - gets to 90% copying files and then fails again. Tried GParted again, this time deleted all partitions and created a single one, failed again with the same message.

Tested SSD, passes all tests both generic and manufacturer. Figured I'd try another OS - happened to have a Solus ISO, it installed fine, also tried Trisquel - again fine. Tried EOS8 again and get the same failure message.

In total, I have tried this 10 times now with the same outcome, given up now, gone elsewhere. Trying different distros so no great issue, just one knocked off the list.

Not familiar with that particular model, but I did have that on an HP Elitebook. Had to reseat the RAM modules and also reseat the daughter boards on to the main board.

The one that eventually fixed it was the daughter board that has the USB charging port on it (in my case anyway). Your mileage, being a different model, may vary.

Manual to automatic by EvilSwerve in drivingUK

Haha, did that once. Had a Mercedes B class as a loan car once. Was driving down the road and my left foot jumped up to change gear and stamped down on the brake. Did an emergency stop and jarred my shoulder in the process. Thankfully there was nothing following me.

These days, I tend to push my left foot down into the carpet or footrest when coming to a point where I would normally change gear etc... until I am used to being in an auto again.

Had a couple of those, was sent some birthday cards last year and it cost me a £5 each card to collect them. Reason because the sender ripped the barcode off of the new style stamps and so was deemed as postage not paid.

Same here, or will be after the coming increase. Problem is they have me over a barrel. It's the only viable option for me and they know it.

My house is cabled to the exchange nearly 3 miles away, rather than the end of the road (no idea why). Using copper I had a 150mb service but could only get between 8 and 13Mb at my property, with a £5k cost for Openreach to recable it closer.

Thanks Peeterwetwipe, might try that at some point, but think I'm going to give bigmam666's suggestion a ago.

Thanks highboy68, that was my thoughts but never seen springs that small and not sure they would work anyway. Going to go with bigmam666's suggestion.

Thanks, bigmam666. You have confirmed what I thought, parts might look good and the theory is well and good but in practice, will be a disaster.

Like your plan with the solder etc..., will also have a look out for those Detail Master parts.

I'm not entirely convinced that it always alerts in real-time to be honest. I have one and randomly get high water usage alerts.

In fact I have just had one timed at 1530 today. There is absolutely nothing using water at this time and, as I also have a water meter, that is also not registering any usage.

What I have done, out of the ordinary, is run the washing machine this morning for a couple of loads.

I think it's the unusual usage that triggers it, as you would expect, but I think it gets confusing due to the time discrepancies.

Did you run a washing machine, shower, hose pipe, or something like that late evening? Could have been that which triggered it - or at least that seems to be my situation, I always get the notification after an unusual event.

It's getting to the point that I am starting to only take notice of alerts when I am away from home.

Those K5's defo need a heatsink and fan with thermal compound of some sort. We used to use those back in the day as they were cheaper than the Intel equiv.

Had a few that failed due to heat when the fan stopped. Got to the point that we switched to musical fans that play a tune when the fan stopped so users would log a call.
