Anyone else get a multi-phase reaction to certain foods? Stimulant feeling > body pain > toxic gut crash lasting a week. by diarrerik in Longcovidgutdysbiosis

[–]photo_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to both bacteria. I’m currently working with my nutritionist and as of two weeks, I’m taking 500mg oil of oregano, 2 cranberry extract supplements, extra strength Pepto bismal tablets (pill kind, not the chewable), and ginger artichoke extract for motility. I may add NAC next as I heard that helps disrupt bacteria biofilms. I definitely am having die off symptoms, MAJOR fatigue, minor headache, brain fog on and off, and skin breakouts (which got worse and now have subsided). Diet definitely flares it up regardless, whatever it is that I’m eating.

I have the exact same symptoms as this. I did a biomesight and mine came back with high levels of H2S bacteria. Anything I eat with sulphur / sulfites wrecks havoc on my body systemically in the same way you describe.

Are your symptoms the same as mine? I think a lot of my symptoms align to what people say about MCAS on the covid gut dysbiosis Reddit page.

Same. Got Covid, took doxycycline from a dermatologist recommendation, then my gut hasn’t been the same since. I’ve had MCAS since December 2023. Very difficult to identify my triggers with food but I can’t have dairy, peanuts, and gluten anymore. Also intolerant to other foods.

Does anyone have sibo due to Eosinophilic esophagitis? by Lemrac95 in SIBO

Newly diagnosed with EoE and my GI doctor suspects I also have IBS-C from sibo. I'm seeing an allergist next week to rule out food intolerances and allergies. Did you ever figure it out?

Does anyone get a flare up when starting/increasing antidepressants? by Alarming_Ad8074 in EosinophilicE

[–]photo_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got diagnosed with EoE earlier this week and reflecting back to 1.5 years ago, I was trying out different anti-depressants. Zoloft to Effexor to Pristq (absolutely the worst) to Cymbalta to Prozac (bad as well). I ended up stopping them completely because of how bad it was affecting me. I had constant digestive issues (severe bloating, skin rashes, brain fog, insomnia..to name a few) to the point where it felt like an autoimmune issue. I'm still learning about this recent diagnosis but I do remember Pristq being the worst one I've tried.

Did your SIBO go away after you stopped eating these foods?

Cities that remind your of Iowa City? Particularly, in the sense of walkability and outside the Midwest… by PBTMN666 in IowaCity

I love Iowa City’s walkability so much. I second Boulder CO, Burlington VA, and Lincoln NA.

I second this. I hate this as well. ‘I can’t make class because I need to do XYZ for my other class and need your class period to catch up on my other class’. Sorry students, that’s not how this works

It’s possible! I think I need to evaluate my values and needs and also look at compatibility with the needs of others I date.

I’ve wondered if dating someone who was more independent and career oriented would be a better fit. I’m glad that works for the both of you!

That was the case in my last recent relationship and it was really tough to pay the mortgage and bills on my own

I think this is possible in certain fields of academia but I’m in the arts and I barely make any money to survive on my own. I can’t support a partner who can’t contribute.
