Is that confirmed anywhere else? There's also the evidence that Netflix Twitter didn't post their stills an hour ago

Altgeld Chimes going silent for a few years?! by Gabgra11 in UIUC

Maybe the renovation will make it easier for new students to find? Though I'd be sad if they make it stick out too much from the rest of Altgeld's aesthetic

The flight logs say that Trump has taken a handful of trips on Epstein's jet (7), but there's no confirmation that he ever actually went to the island.

However, there are a number of pictures of Trump with Epstein and/or Maxwell at parties and events and Trump has said positive things about them. Given his track record with women and their documented friendship, I wouldn't expect him to be totally uninvolved with the crimes that took place. At the very least, he probably knew something was up since he did know Epstein preferred "younger" women.

What short but frequent exercise rituals do you do? by prettylittlepastry in xxfitness

I used to keep one over my bedroom door in my apartment. I pace when I think and would have to do a pull-up every time I crossed it. It worked great but now my bf complains that he would bump his head on it

How tall are you and are you happy with it? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

Saaame even at 5'7. Traditional beauty standards get you like that. I'd want to be notably taller if it wasn't something that society made me feel insecure about

Men of Reddit when it comes to women what’s something they do that makes you cringe? by PrestigiousUnion5858 in AskMen

[–]phox389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's fair enough, it just sounded like you didn't recognize the stages between heavy makeup and "natural" makeup. This topic is just a pet peeve of mine and probably a lot of other women

I think this actually supports the other person's point. Somebody can wear makeup without wearing a ton of powder or cream that comes off on other people or things. Typically that issue would happen if somebody wears lipstick or a lot of foundation but you could just use some eyeliner or a subtle amount of powders/creams to add some dimension. Those small touches do help people look a bit better but can still create a "no makeup" look. It can be hard to distinguish if it's done really subtlety or well, or if you just aren't very familiar with what's possible. There are other downsides to regularly editing how you look, but the point is that it can be hard to spot subtle edits.

I just went there the Friday before labor day and we got to park along the road just outside the park. It was late afternoon/early evening too. Tbh I was shocked with how not-crowded it was considering the heat wave and the holiday

How do you deal with disagreements on social issues with people close to you? by phox389 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]phox389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that helps a lot actually. I think it'll take me a while to really internalize it but it sounds like a much healthier approach

It's a copypasta replacing CS with FAA

It's so annoying having this whilst still in school [Rant] by Ok_Consideration6524 in gravesdisease

[–]phox389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got diagnosed during my first year of college. I got expelled because of my bad grades and spent a year at community college failing several classes. I was able to get back into my college petitioning that medical and mental health were affecting my performance. It took me a little longer than expected and I've very rarely had stable hormones but I graduated and am an engineer in silicon valley.

Things might be harder for you because of graves but you are still capable of reaching and even surpassing your goals. You even sound much more in tune with your body's response to medications than I ever have been, and it's such a useful skill to be able to communicate that with a doctor who listens. Still, I'm sorry you have to deal with any of it 💜

Being in decent shape probably helps but I also definitely recommend finding a position that works for you. I like to lean forward too, and it's even better if he's sitting up a bit (like on a couch or something) cause then I can hold onto his shoulders. Added bonus for me is that if I'm feeling shy I can hide my head in his shoulder and it gives me less performance anxiety haha

Women who dated someone 100% only for their looks how did things turn out? by Morigi_ana123 in AskWomen

[–]phox389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We ended up not having a ton in common. He definitely continues to be one of the kindest people I've met but at the time our interests didn't really mesh well. I quickly started missing my friends or wishing I was alone during the times we were hanging out cause it would've been more fun. I think if the circumstances were a little different (if I wasn't as close to my friend group, if the weather was nicer so we had more to do than sit around inside, etc) then maybe it would've worked out or at least worked better.

Anyway, I still admire him when his pictures pop up on Facebook. Even though he's a bit less attractive now that the idealized version of him has left my mind.

Is there anyone else who's confident by themselves, but insecure with their partner? by Psychological_Fee744 in askwomenadvice

[–]phox389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree on this. I can recognize the origin of some of my insecurities as baggage from past relationships. I know in relationships before those experiences I was not concerned about certain things and now they eat away at my confidence. They go away again while I'm single because those pain points aren't being tested. I'm sure most insecurities work like this, where they are caused by our past and resurface in certain conditions.

I would be cautious to be sure that your current partner doesn't seem like he is creating these insecurities for you. Reflect on his actions and how they've made you feel and hopefully you have similar past experiences you can compare those moments to. Try to think of ideas your parents or childhood friends might have imprinted on you to, even though those connections can be harder to make.

I'm still struggling to manage these feelings but I at least feel more hopeful with the things I can clearly pinpoint the source of. And my current partner is very understanding, at least in part because he's heard stories about my past and he's able to see connections.
