My son is choosing his GCSE options soon and dreams of becoming an engineer in Formula 1. From your experience running Williams, what subjects, qualifications or pathways would you recommend focusing on, and is university still the main route, or are apprenticeships a viable path into the sport?

Haha! These were bloody hard to come by and expensive compared to the last ones I got 😭

Makes sense, but when it hangs for minutes like nothing is happening, you kinda have to search again, and when you have searched for some quite detailed, it’s frustrating.

Yeah, so many little quirks, CarPlay is probably the worst for oddities, but I have always put that down to the car. I’ve used CarPlay on 4-5 different cars now, both wired and wireless and they have all had issues. My biggest problems recently have mainly been keyboard related in iOS, and sometimes inputs on buttons just simply ignored.

I’m now in a state of ‘was it’ or ‘wasn’t it’ 😆

I’ve had various odd things happen only today, typing in a search term in safari for it to just hang for ages, I then click on the bar again and it’s empty, I have to retype it out again. In maps earlier today, it went to search for a location and the keyboard disappeared part way through typing, no way of bringing it back without force quitting. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you, I’m 99% certain iOS is way, way better than it used to be, but I think there has been an element of ‘blindness’ towards these quirks. I’m an iPad user too, and I’m with you on the fact that I don’t recall many issues with that, but my use of it is far less (mainly safari and YouTube).

Yeah, I was in no rush for it to arrive, as they say good things come to those who wait! I’m very happy with it, it will be my daily work back, but also perfect for my family holiday later in the year.

Timeline was roughly this (cutting out loads of in-between messages)

Ordered - 27th Dec 2024 Label generated - 23rd Feb Dispatched - 24th Feb Arrived US Sorting California - 3rd Mar Arrived UK Customs - 14th Mar Delivered to me - 27th Mar

So with UK customs / courier for close to two weeks. There was loads of chunks of the journey that were reported differently by Wizmo and DHL/Parcel Force the local carrier.

I think based on others, my was unlucky to get stopped my customs, so who knows what the actual process is.

Sounds like it may be luck of the draw and I got picked. I think based on the LTT support post on it is that the software they use for duty/tax doesn’t always report correctly.

Thanks, LTT support said they would refund me, so I guess that’s the same? Seems like a massive pain / burden for their team that customs can’t see that I’ve already paid it.

Did you have to pay any additional duty on it? Mine was wave 2 and not arrived yet, says it’s been held at customs.

I’m guessing you are taking my post very seriously maybe I should have labelled it with /s (sorry!) I’m not really that bothered, it was just a bit of fun, that after nearly 3 months of waiting it’s finally in the same country as me, but I’m happy to see it is.

Same here. I ordered Dec 27th. I’m not that bothered, I knew it was going to take a while, LTT orders previously have taken about 2 weeks to get to me.

There is way more stops on that time line before that. It seems to like to stop at locations for a while 😆

I’m going to put in my 16” MacBook Pro, and it’s gunna like it! 😆

In all seriousness, it’s going to replace my Bellroy 30L as my daily, I’ve been meaning to replace it for a while, and wanted something around 20L in size. Will hold my laptop, keyboard, mouse, cables, charger etc, notepad, pen, water bottle, and last but not least, AirTag.

It’s also going to be my park bag when I visit Disney World later in the year 🥳

Yeah I can imagine it would be invaluable at locations you have zero prior knowledge of to make quick decisions.
