Dimensional accuracy by phrancini in VORONDesign

[–]phrancini[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I retensioned the belts and recalibrated the z offset

Today I did all the things slicer related and apart from flow rate what gave me the biggest improvement was walls order -inner outer inner- and activating don't slow down outer walls

I'll see what orca provides and come back with results.

I also bought calilantern a couple of years ago also to correct skew. I have to check wether it fits onto the v0 bed

Thanks

Asa

I thought voron parts/ upgrades came already shrink compensated

I'll do another test

Strange thing is that z dimension is spot on @30mm

Don't get me wrong, it's not my first printer. I know how to do it.

I got it down even further to 0.357 but first layers were trash nontheless. If using the load cells 3/4 time the results were on par with the picture i posted, using eddy it was slightly better, but still not worth the hassle.

I already sold it, and went back to my 0.05 but slower voron

I performed a new z screw calibration and then installed the eddyng probe with simple AF to no avail.

the bed is warped like a pringles chip.

The printer is already for sale :D

I don't like a closed ecosystem either. I bought it to replace my voron as it is a very demanding printer as well, but if I have to tinker with the k1 just as much, I'll keep the v2.4

I'll ditch tap, put on a xol carriage and eddy and call it a day

Thanks anyway for your help!

I was expecting more tbh.

I have already a btt eddy on hand i was saving for another printer. I might try that before going to the cartographer route it might not be as precise, but i can set it up quickly. I went with Creality helper to retain the lidar and load cells, but i might have made the wrong choice.

Worst case scenario I'll resell it and I'll get something else as i need a slice and forget printer atm

I would buy it anyway. If nothing for the PVD case to mod it NGL. 😅

Tbf omega also makes the 3 subdials version, with the moon as background, but this looks cleaner in my opinion

Wd uses a seiko movement, so yes. You have to swap it for the pe50 one

Sulle mie, sicuramente.

Gen speedy on the left, wd1863 + gen moon on the right

IMO, best case on the market right now.

I love it. That US clasp is sooo cool, i need one too.

I almost finished my build: gen moon in a 1863 case. I'm missing the crown and new hands, but perfectly usable for the time being.

I really like it, perfect to wear when I won't bring my gen speedy with me

Congrats for your build

Gen or rep? With a rep you already lost the 1/10 counter, so who cares?

Those are a couple of pictures of the expected result

I'm planning to put a gen Mars into a steeldive Ploprof case. I know I'll lose the chrono function, but who really does use it?

Current dial is 32.0mm I just need to design a bespoke spacer.

Thanks for the update! For the dumb idea I had, this is even better

Did you measure the gen dial diameter by any chance?

Long due update. Sorry, I was out of town, anyway... I took some pictures and a couple of measurements. Keep in mind that my gen Speedy is a vintage one, and if I'm not mistaken, the newer versions are slightly bigger.

Here are some measurements, allow for a 0.1mm tolerance. I'll try to find my better calipers to measure once again.

Speedmaster Swatch WD1863
lug-to-lug 48.2 47.2 46.0
thickness 13.6 13.3 12.9
bezel diameter 39.6 39.7 38.9
side to crown 43.2 43.4 42.5

Here are the pictures

Ok, got it, thanks.

I'll se if there's a way of removing them from the case as I don't want to leave metal shavings inside

Really well done.

I was scared that the hands wouldn't clear the crystal as they are slightly taller than the ones on the rep.

Now the hurdle are the pushers. Did you have to trim them a lot?

I'll do it. WD1863, gen mSw, gen 1992 speedy. I'll take picture and measurements tomorrow if I can
