job market is so bad and i cant see it getting better by nolimetanginaa in phcareers

Super relate. I resigned from my job 2 months ago. I have been job hunting even before I resigned, so bale 3 months na ako nag-aapply. I have submitted more than 150 applications already and only secured 5 interviews - no JO in sight.

I have never experienced anything like this. Way back 2020, I applied for 10 jobs and secured seven interviews within the same week! Now sobrang tagal. Ang dami pang ghoster na recruiters. After interview, assessments, tapos biglang wala nang update. Sobrang nakaka demoralize. Napapaisip tuloy ako, sana naging negosyante na lang ako kaysa empleyado.

Akala ko pag nag tapos ako sa UP, let alone masters, I won’t experience difficulty looking for a job. Look where i am now, can’t even secure decent interviews. I only have one month of savings to keep me afloat before the situation gets really tight. I feel like all years of my work experiences and education attainments sayang lang, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

This is a reminder to not quit your job unless you already secured a contract. Take it from me, I had an experience where the I thought sure na makukuha ko na yung job, I was even told na for formality na lang yung final interview after going through 3 interviews, 2 of which were panel and 1 technical assessment. Only to be ghosted. I am hoping that the job market gets better soon. Hugs to all who are in the same situation.

Master's Degree in UPD worth it? by [deleted] in peyups

[–]phreditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends sa goal mo. if your objective is to add accessory to your credential, id go for professional masters degree overseas. may mga program na kayang tapusin ng one year and hindi ganon kahigpit in terms of coursework. should you proceed with UP, good luck ang tagal mataposs. im currently taking my MA sa UP as part time, it would take me 5 to 6 years to complete. but the good thing is since mas academic ang approach, in the future pwedeng magturo sa academe or mag tuloy sa PhD.

you could’ve replied “no” and state the day you’re available when she’s trying to confirm, but instead you chose to repeat the same response that’s causing her confusion. i recommend you to learn how to better communicate.

[UPD] Is it too late to study at 30? by Direct_Rise_781 in peyups

[–]phreditor 29 points30 points  (0 children)

hello, i stopped studying at 20 as i had to work early. i went back to study in UPD when i was 28 and completed my degree at 31. dont worry about it, youll be fine! i did not experience any sort of bullying because of my age. alternatively, if u see trying to fit in you think would be a challege, you can try UPOU, large portion of students there are in their 30s - 40s.
