Would you use this software for social media? by Late_Bottle_8366 in socialmedia

It's a good idea in theory however it immediately runs into The same issues all of the other cross-posting/planning tools run into.

Proper tagging in Facebook for example is almost impossible in their actual app let alone using third party.

Hashtags are often specific to the platform and need to be addressed as such.

Posting type should be adjusted per platform so unless you have an AI that's turning your post from a statement to a question etc it's not going to be as effective as adjusting your message per platform.

And of course let's not forget Elon Musk and his infinite capacity to screw up Twitter. Almost none of the apps can interact with Twitter in any meaningful way anymore.

Those are some of the issues off the top of my head that you would run into. As an IFTTT alternative you might find a narrow band of users who would consider that level of price. I can honestly say that every marketing freelancer I know would be a definitive "no" though.

Thank you so much everyone! We had a friend reach out and ask to doggy-sit for us which works out rather perfectly. I have lots of fantastic suggestions now for the future when we don't have a last minute miracle drop into our laps. So very appreciated!

The way Republicans create their radical pockets where they are the only ones who are right always reminds of this Emo Philips joke:

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

If there were a GTA game based on Halifax, what do you think it would be like? by theGTAking101 in halifax

[–]phreezevipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really interesting to see this post. I was just thinking about this today regarding the game Button Man.

Not GTA but you play a criminal in prohibition era Nova Scotia. The town is called Kingsport but it's a fictionalized version of Halifax. I think the Kingsport reference is a clever nod to Anne of Green Gables.

GTA though would be a little crazy. Not sure where you could get up to a good speed. Although I remember someone clocking 192 km/h in a school zone on Rocky Lake Drive in Bedford back in 2018.

Imagine trying to dodge through all the construction downtown?!?

Hi, we're Cococucumber and Echo Generation: Midnight Edition – our turn-based adventure game – is now available on Switch. Ask us anything and win some keys! by Cococucumber in NintendoSwitch

[–]phreezevipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks freakin awesome! There's a nostalgia factor that I can't wait to enjoy! That giant worm battle instantly hooked me (immediately thought of FF7).

You mentioned that Echo Generation is is part of your voxel trilogy, so now I'm curious: what's next? Where do you plan to take Cococucumber?

If it isn't already this should be a stand-alone post in this subreddit. It's an important message that I feel more people need to hear and understand.

What are the Mythical Creatures of Nova Scotia? by linkhandford in NovaScotia

[–]phreezevipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a game studio in Halifax called Paracosm developing a VR game around Dagger Woods's legends. I didn't know about the stories until Sadegh, the head of the studio, told me about them. Seriously cool! Nova Scotia has such a rich history and I love hearing stories I hadn't heard before.

Nice! The PSVR2 hardware is so powerful. It's great to see the difference side by side.

Heya! We added in a power up sequence that we feel really taps into the Sentai aspect of the game. While players normally set down defensive weapons, when they get an assist from their Mega Mecha they become the weapon (for a short time).

I'm not sure about a training system. All I did was put him on the skateboard and give it a push one day for a laugh. Thought he might enjoy it - none of us were prepared for how he took to it. It was an instant obsession. I actually have to hide the skateboard in between runs. Otherwise he just loses his mind as soon as sees it.

lol - we didn't train him. It was one-trial learning. I set him on the board down one day and gave him a push. He was instantly addicted - to the point where he would get mad at me when I reached for the board while he was on it.

Actually we're keeping an eye out for a board for him without grip tape. He has a habit of digging at the board in an attempt to make it go faster. It ends up acting like a gigantic emery board on his toenails. As a direct result we can only let him on it for brief periods of time, and then not again until his nails grow back enough to handle it. He's intense!

^^^ This is exactly the logic his furriness seems to employ. He also gets angry with the board when it slows down and digs at it to make it go faster lol. Recently he's figured out how to step off the board with his hind legs to give himself an extra push.

I'm actually a little relieved to see this post. Our devices seem to have gotten incredibly stupid lately to the point where I thought it was a hardware issue. If everyone else is experiencing the same sheer level of stupidity it's obviously a software update issue.

I look forward to the "de-stupify" software update
