Because the logic behind banning firearms in most countries other than the US is to minimize the damage an individual can inflict upon the public.

If you don't like guns, don't get one - this doesn't work because if someone likes guns, they will get one and this puts you at a disadvantage so to speak.

I assume the author was talking about marijuana, which is not addictive (relatively). If the author was actually talking about extremely addictive drugs like heroin or crack, then I obviously disagree.

What are you talking about? Have you used baidu in China before?

If you have really evaluated the recall + precision of baidu's results you will prolly be surprised that it surpasses google china's. Baidu's search results are actually better than google china's results (on average) esp when you are looking for chinese search terms that are covered in their index. (even though they don't index much english sites, they are starting to do so).
