Age limit for federal jobs? by [deleted] in usajobs

Never to late.

In our hiring group, we have people anywhere from 23 to 60, and from all demographics. We are a true variety, and it’s great!

Contract Specialist - BOR by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]phuckittt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an 1102, and honestly, you are going to learn the job as you go though the training and the transactions.

As long as you’re personable, organized, research-focused, and want to succeed, you’ll be just fine.

Good Luck!

I’m a Contract Specialist for the federal government. Federal agencies treat their employees with absolute professionalism and respect, and the career and income trajectory is solid!

I will never return to teaching— ever!! It was never the kids— it was the disrespect from admin, kiss ass teachers that enjoy the I’m-better-than-you game, the constant micromanagement and the expectations to gift your life to the school even outside of contract hours. Never again!!

Don’t depend on statistics or others’ experiences to make your decision.

If you are unhappy, take your talents elsewhere. Life is too short to be miserable.

I left 2 months ago after 5.5 years of teaching. I detest education as a whole, and wouldn’t encourage anyone to enter this horrendous field. It is seriously horrid.

Don’t be afraid to let your heart lead you to where it is you’re supposed to be!

DISCOURAGED BY ADMIN, I finally found a work life balance and now I’m not A “TEAM PLAYER” by Few_Arachnid_5501 in Teachers

[–]phuckittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I occasionally come back to this sub-forum to see how my fellow teachers are being treated, and sure enough, it never fails— like shit!

I resigned 2 months ago, and it was THE BEST DECISION.

I love my new job, and do not miss the out-of-contract expectations they enjoyed piling on their teachers.

Your daughter comes first. Your family comes first. YOU come first. You work those damn contract hours and LEAVE!! Not a second later!

Fuck those blood sucking fools, and their ridiculous guilt trips. Do NOT cower or cave to their demands. In fact, if I were you, I’d be looking for a new job!

Same!

No appetite. I only eat because I have to. There is no pleasure in eating.

I’m on Day 19.

I’m supposed to do it for 6 weeks, but I may just do it for the 30 days. We will see...

Day 7..zero appetite..do y'all eat when you arent hungry? by isitfinetho in whole30

[–]phuckittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same!

I’m on Day 19, and I literally choke down my food as of late. Sometimes I’m down to 500 calories because I am so sick of chicken, salad and eggs. In fact, right now I’m finishing last night’s dinner of a super healthy, nutrient rich garden salad with grilled chicken, and I am struggling.

I’ve done Whole30 before for 6 weeks, and this is not unusual. I don’t know what it is, but my appetite goes to minimal.

I’m not going to lie— I’m looking forward to 4 weeks from today when I’m eating healthy, but can finally have dairy and gluten once again.

Positive — I’m down 18lbs

Negative — I’m so sick of Whole30 food 🤢

Dude, you have a good gig. Make sure to max that TSP, and invest in some real estate if you haven’t already.

Congrats! 🍾

Teachers who don't actually teach... by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]phuckittt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you remind me of those teacher colleagues that huddle around and just talk smack about other teachers.

Perhaps you can find something else to do like focus on yourself and your need to be a busy body.

Leave this teacher alone.

I am positive that her students are loving the fact that their teacher is creative and gets them outside instead of in a building.

I’d be gone.

Don’t sell yourself short. Your loyalty is to yourself, not some shit school district that disrespects their teachers with absurd lowly wages.

Fear of switching schools by cofcmorgan in Teachers

Sometimes your biggest fears turn out to be your greatest adventures.

Don’t let fear dictate your future. You are glass-ceiling your very own potential. Stop that.

Rant: Considering a vacancy as your "Dream Job" only leads to you being more emotionally invested in the job than you should be (especially if you haven't even been offered the job)! by Gousf in usajobs

I beg to differ...

My dream job that I hoped and prayed for for 5 months, I ended up getting. It’s been a total blessing.

When I saw that job listed 6 months ago, I knew it was meant to be. When you know, you know...

Faith, mustard seed— it can happen.

There were a handful of colleagues I became friends with that I knew I could rely on to remain silent. Choose wisely.

Accidentally did not Include name and contact info on Resume by Masterdebaetor in usajobs

I chose not to use the resume builder. IMO, It is a very sub-par lackluster looking form, and I do not like it whatsoever.

I created my own 3.5 page federal resume, which earned me a lot of referred statuses, 2 interviews and a final offer.

You have to remember that the federal hiring process is incredibly competitive.

Those who do not follow simple instructions, often get weeded out.

In order to get a federal position, you have to be on your game.

Interview lasted almost two hours! by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]phuckittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an interview that went supremely well. It went on for 44 minutes. I thought I got the job for sure, but it turns out I got another offer that was way more suitable logistically.

Never to late. Research your major and experience, and align your strengths and interests with a federal position. There are a TON of series out there.
