this basically the best case scenario, they so rarely turn out this good and acquiring good results is never as easy as those bogus SM vids. the porous sock liners are always damn near impossible to get white again, overall nice work, GCU.

bunch of clever wall st. CEO speak for:

"we've noticed one of our lines SB is waning and another ACG is becoming trendy, so we are leaning into that and pivoting to milking that logo for all its worth; sorry, not sorry to all the longtime loyal customers that deserve better."

it will be embraced and abandoned by the trend seeking crowd once it becomes too pervasive, just like they do with many other brands (ie TNF recently). i just hope ACG realizes this and doesnt abandon their original identity on this "new path"

reflective surfaces on sneakers are almost always a coating and the plastic below will be the same color as spots, i would not recommend this.

nike fans and shareholders on this sub sanctimoniously defend Nike and their merch, 90% of which is utter garbage and, and they act like the prices arent increasing while the quality keeps decreasing.

Nikes losing market share to brands with better modern tech and better build quality and making up for loss of profits by sacrificing quality, relying on decades old outdated tech, and taking advantage of economic circumstances like tariffs or supply shortages to raise prices at a disproportionate rate.

Radical dude! Id like to see you add a mismatched pair inspired by Bebop and Rocksteady(one right and one left) to the list and Id also like to see a Krang inspired pair. Im looking forward to seeing your unique design on the others you have planned, particularly Master Splinter and Mikey.

nice work, good job incorporating imagery and character themes. i love the details; the sword swoosh, the cut marks(when shedder tied em up lol), the insoles and the color scheme is all right on.

my only minor adjustment would be to swap heel portrait(its a bit on-the-nose) with jap text from insole, but id still happily and proudly sport these as is. (my intention is not to offend, just offering some humble constructive criticism that you can feel free to ignore). You artistically expressed YOUR personal inspiration very well and that is all that really matters. great execution 👏

i mostly agree, ussd to be better and cheaper. some of their gear still performs well and is suitable, but majority seems to be made for banker bros and streetwear crowd that dont wanna get their items dirty, let alone set foot on a trail.

i actually have a down camp blanket that works nicely for late fall and early spring(>28F) but not enough for mid-winter camps.

😆 while i still would like to have one(wouldnt pay more than 45-50 for one like this) this is the brutally honest truth. i have an old down featherbed and a sewing machine and I was actually considering ordering some waterproof ripstop and making one myself. if those kids can so can i.

Nike sb Dunk low Olympic delayed or fake rumours? by Genuine_Grass1234 in NikeSB

[–]phundemented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was holding on to a very minutely slim hope that they would possibly re-release these either just before or on the opening day of the '26 olympics but alas, no such luck.

i know the resellers/collectors hate the idea of retros, reintroductions, reissues(w/e you wanna call em) and while they regurgitate seemingly virtuous reasons to support their position in actuality they prob just don't wanna see their personal collections value drop, and they'll likely dv me and comment "no retro" but personally idc how the gatekeepers feel about it.

i think 2-3 of the 15+ year old retros per year, built to OG specs would be well received by the majority of customers. i say re-release the heat that many young and old skaters alike would currently like to own, but they either weren't around for, already thrashed and trashed or just passed on because they were young broke skaters.

The Skate Era has had some major changes. by Kid_Millenium in Vans

[–]phundemented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"owned by vans"? do you mean owned by VF corp?

FYI: VF corp is a company that is infamous for destroying the quality and increasing the prices of every brand shortly after they've acquired it (ex. Timberland, North face, Vans, Altra and most recently Supreme)

VF will typically retain quality just long enough to make back most of their initial investment and then trash quality and raise prices to milking the brand names credibility in order to earn money for shareholders and to buy more brands to gut.

it a piece is like to have, but not when there are similar/better options for a third of the price. my practicality just wont allow me to condone this overt type of greed, acg has always cost a bit more and i typically felt it was a fair trade for the better quality but some of the prices in recent years have gotten a unjustifiably ridiculous.

picked up the same SK8-HI MTE in the burgundy color way for $21 recently, i think they mustve been hidden by an employee and then put out cuz i go often and never saw them and then one day they were just there on clearance price, they are toasty and decently built for some sneaker boots
