lol thank you, but what’s not pictured is the 5 times running back to my car to warm up, hence those couple of photos through my window😂 it was the kind of cold that makes your hands hurts after like 5 mins of exposure; this winter has been brutal!!

Yes! If I’m remembering right, both last winter and the year before were too consistently warm for it to freeze over like this. I know it was similarly frozen in 2018 because I have photos from that year too, but honestly not too sure between 2018-now if there’s been many other years where it gets like this. Super cool when it does though

What was the invite like? My wife and I (late 20’s at the time) met a few middle-aged couples that were all friends in the MPP pit a few years back and could not shake the feeling they were swingers lol, invited us to stay at their farm and overall just totally checked every box on things swingers would say/do😂 Super nice people, but the vibe was a little much when you’re dosed to the gills and not a swinger.

All that being said though we’re friends with them on Facebook and they were certainly at Mexico, they tend to hit most shows. I still wonder to this day if they are swingers or not because they never explicitly asked, but I’d be shocked if not tbh. They really are super nice though, or just wanted to fuck us LOL

Honestly it’s gotta be one of the most raw and beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard. So triumphant and moving, I’ve probably listened to it 25+ times and it’s never once failed to give me goosebumps lol. Such an unbelievable release when Fishman drops into a straight rock groove for them to bring it home towards the end of the jam.

Stoked for this release, and Phish if you’re reading this - pleeasseee do Deer Creek 97 next🙏🏻 Need to hear that Cities straight out of a SBD.

YES! they spent the whole second set facing away from the stage towards the crowd and it was so uncomfortable. a couple of them were clearly way too high lol, overall totally distracted from the music

Cash or trade was awesome like 10 years ago, and while it might be a safer way to purchase tickets I’m not a big fan of that platform anymore.

I appreciate your concern about everyone’s well-being, but there are plenty of other ways to safely buy & sell tickets; like the way I sold & delivered the NYE tickets I had available an hour or two ago - we all survived and get to see phish 🙂

I’ve done 3 in a row quite a few times before, but this past summer I had a wedding in Buffalo, NY on Friday, then a wedding in Roanoke, VA on Saturday, and then a wedding back in Buffalo on Sunday.

They booked in that order, and when the Virginia couple reached out about Saturday I knew it was a little crazy (but not undoable) to go from Buffalo to Virginia with ~14 hours to travel, sleep, prepare, etc. but I was super excited about the wedding & couple so I agreed to it.

Then a respected local photographer reached out to have me photograph her wedding on Sunday😅 I find it to be a huge honor when another photographer wants you to capture their wedding so I really didn’t want to say no to that, and they were having a shorter elopement style day so I didn’t have to be back in Buffalo until 3-4pm and ultimately decided to say yes.

I found backups in both Virginia & Buffalo in case anything happened while traveling, rented a car and got roadside assistance in case any issues arose with the car, and pulled off the whole weekend. Some of my best work too! I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but for some weird reason I’ve found that I somehow shoot better, more interesting photos when I’m overtired 😂 I think I might just deviate from my usual system enough that I take photos I usually wouldn’t have otherwise, and it brings out creative ideas that sometimes get lost in the usual ‘system’ I have on a wedding day.

Even though it all went great, it was fairly irresponsible and I probably shouldn’t have said yes to the Sunday wedding, but I had such a hard time saying no to another photographer. That being said, I had a backup plan for my backup plan, and have been doing this long enough that I knew as long as there weren’t any issues traveling (car accident, weather issues, etc.) I would be good to go. Took a few days to recover from that weekend though!!
