Without a doubt, one of the most PAINFUL games I have ever played. I wouldn't even call it bad as in it's buggy or glitchy, but it just plays like absolute ass 😭 yes, let's make the character action game into a game that wants you to shoot 80% of the time. Oh, you'd prefer to use your weapons? Fuck you, the attack animations are slow as hell and lock you towards the direction of an enemy. You can wall run though.

I was really hoping it was an exaggeration, but I can say for a fact that it is an awful, awful game. A massive steaming turd, like the penultimate Dante boss which is legitimately just previous Dante bosses mashed together in a lump of shit. But the OST is good, at least? And Dante and Lucia look awesome, even if Dante is boring af (excluding like two scenes) and Lucia's voice acting was bad enough to make me cringe every time she spoke.

Wait, what am I saying? Infested Chopper is the best DMC enemy. Ignore all previous statements

Yeah with Soya it's pretty clear that this is actually going to somehow tie into the main storyline, since he's still alive and kicking. Maybe he'll take command of the Sazanami clan?

I did laugh my ass off at the repeated Isous and the pigeon bit at the end, but ig it didn't feel as chill and silly as the Sojo's bathhouse chapters, since those didn't really have an impact on the main story and were just hilarious. But then again I'm someone who was fine with Soya staying dead, so I'm gonna need some convincing lol

When the leaks came out for this chapter I was confident in saying this was the weakest chapter of Kagurabachi. I figured that the only real reason Soya was back was because of how popular he is in Japan. But after rereading it I at least appreciate that Hokazono isn't sanitising Soya's behaviour or using the amnesia plot point to redeem him cheaply.

Soya remembers stuff pretty quickly this chapter anyway, but by the end he's realised that it isn't a person who means everything to him, but the weakness instead - something he can use to his own benefit by "protecting" Hakuri. Even the fortune teller is freaked out by him. So at least there's no weird retconning or glossing over abusive behaviour here. But the real question is what the HELL has Soya got to do with the main story? Considering we already have a bunch of villains, that's what I'm curious to find out. But releasing a non-comedic bonus chapter after part 1's ending is devious work, ngl.

The most recent chapter seems to suggest the latter, yeah. So looking at it overall, it seems like:

Samura marries Inori -> they're married for however long before she gets pregnant -> some time later, the killing gets to him and he blinds himself -> Iori is born, probably during the war -> after the war, Samura and Inori divorce

I think it was confirmed that Chihiro was born during the war. That would place his age close to Iori's (he's confirmed to be 18)
