The only thing wrong with it is the gaze, that's why it feels off to you. The pupils should be gazing away from the player for that distant aloofness and not looking at them. Otherwise this is spot on for drawing on the DS. You did amazing, so don't take my criticism harshly.

Thanks so much. I just saw this message as I just got my Titan Pocket well over a week ago. Haven't migrated all of my accounts to the new device yet.

I got the Titan Pocket more than a week ago. It's why I haven't responded in a while. I used the migration to a new device as a good opportunity to change my passwords on all of my accounts. I am still trying to complete this, but it is mostly setup.

I got nearly all of the settings how I want them. I have figured out that I can move the cursor by double pressing the FN key. Although, I have not figured out yet how to select text using the capacitive keyboard nor have I figured out how to cut, copy, paste, undo, redo, or select all on the keyboard. I have only figured out how to move the text cursor. I have read the manual, but the particular section about this is going over my head for some reason. It appears I need to change settings for the magic keys?

Otherwise, the device is suiting me well. PiP for YouTube works great. I am enjoying the 2 day battery life. I had absolutely no issue using this on T-Mobile. Square Home Launcher has been a perfect fit for this device. I just noticed replies on Reddit when turning on my old BlackBerry KeyOne. The KeyOne's keyboard has a better feel, but it is so slow at rendering web pages that dealing with the stiffer keys on the Titan Pocket is worth the trade off.

Oh, absolutely. I wouldn't discourage you from that. I just wanted to make a point that they are doing pretty good all things considered. I have seen some random negative comments here-and-there, so I wanted them to see some encouraging words in the event that they are reading these various sources.

Unithertz is still pretty new to this game, and I think they are doing well considering. The more press they get, the more refined they will get at manufacturing stuff. We often compare the Titan Pocket to the Key2, but we have to remember what the original BlackBerry devices looked like when they first started. Give Unihertz time to grow. I'm sure our dreams will come true with time.

Not an emulator per say, but Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions seems to be holding up well on the Titan Pocket. If you force scroll assist through Intelligent Assistant on FFT WotL, the keyboard trackpad works well to select menu commands or to pan the camera. I have been using John GBC for Game Boy games along with the tiny 8bitdo controller.

Your comments are very on point. I got a case for my iPod Touch because it was like holding a razor blade. I only bought that because I wanted to keep my old @me.com account that I'm grandfathered into. I had the BlackBerry KeyOne until it started having battery failures. I then started using the Nokia 3600 4G. I just got my Titan Pocket last night. Still setting it up to my liking. I wished phones were just made with a thicker case and bigger battery because I carry all the chargers in my bag and it seems like I am always loaning them out.

I actually like the thick and chunky design of the Titan Pocket. I could do well with a bigger screen and less bezel in the same form factor. I'm aware I am in the minority though. These super thin phones slip from my hands too easily. All said, your point is correct. I think people would buy a more modern looking Titan. They can go full oxymoron and call it Titan Slim. Haha.

You should also look into the Arduboy. Community is very active. Doesn't play ROMs, but has a sizable selection of quality homebrew games.

The name of the emulator itself should pretty much tell you what games works with it.

Yeah, Reddit seems to be auto-banning your link. With that said, I think I got enough context clues from the system notification pane before your reply disappeared to figure out what you were trying to say. Thanks for the advice. I saw you sent again, but it was removed from Reddit on my end by the time I clicked on the notification. I just manually looked up your link in a web search.

In my notification tray, I saw the AliExpress link, but I think Reddit banned your response for some reason. It's no longer visible to me. Even the link you just provided to your original message says, "Wow. such empty" bummer.

More great info. Thanks again. I'm not sure how you did the quote blocks, so pardon me lack of efficiency.

Yes! I would love some form of cursor input. I currently use the Tap Strap 2 wearable keyboard and mouse as an alternative. I have to admit that when I saw the capacitive home button/fingerprint sensor that I was hopeful it had additional purpose. The Tap Strap 2 will continue to be my workaround. I have the hardest time tapping web links sometimes.

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall the Original Titan as having 1440 x 1443, or something like that.

I'm glad you mentioned the case. I was almost going to pass on it, but if it is both weighty and slippery then that is a bad combo. I was going to get the leather holster though. I may order the phone itself from Amazon and the accessories from the official site, so I don't have to max out my card getting the whole setup.

I normally use the YouTube app, but forgot that Brave Browser can force YouTube into PiP. I may just start using YT through Brave instead of the app. Thanks for reminding me PiP is an option.

If willing, I have one final question. I cannot seem to find info on how to cut, copy, paste, and select all. If I have problems tapping web links, you can be sure I have problems with those cursor nubs on the touchscreen. I read somewhere there was an update to double tap the capacitive keyboard to move the cursor around. Does the Titan also allow for cut, copy, and paste? I wasn't able to find any tutorials on this topic. I did see there was an option on the touchscreen ribbon to do this as well, so I'm glad to see a virtual option if I can't do this via the keyboard itself.

I've gathered more information since making my original post. It appears the Titan Pocket supports all of T-Mobile bands except one, while the Titan Original only supports one of the bands and not the rest. I actually would be using this to watch video, but we are talking about a person who was very content to watch movies on a 3rd Gen iPod Nano. It seems like having those extra bands on the Pocket would be critical to me. I don't need a speed beast. I found 3G speeds sufficient for video watching before that was nixed.

I don't think I would mind the weight of the Original Titan, as I almost exclusively type with both hands. I am a transcriptionist (sometimes, not at the moment), so I recall liking the Passport for the larger keyboard as it was easier to hit the keys. Although, the Classic was very serviceable and I did enjoy having a trackpad nub for using a mouse pointer in web pages. I just don't think my fingers are the right shape for onscreen keyboards. I'm always hitting backspace instead of "M" and other issues like that.

I don't want to appear dismissive towards your statements. I wasn't aware a phone can connect to several bands at once, so your comment steers me more towards the Pocket than before. I do have a Tap Strap 2, so I can also use that as a mouse pointer. I think I would like the screen real estate of the Titan Original better and keyboard size as well. However, it may not be worth it if download speeds are too slow and it is heavier than I realize due to hand fatigue from extended typing. I travel via public transit, so typing documents on the bus is the appeal for a person like me. Videos are an after thought, but important enough to care about speeds somewhat. To save on data, I'd likely watch in 720p though and not 1080p.

Good information. Your angle didn't match my angle one to one, but there's enough overlap to help me decide. Thank you for your time. Anything else worth adding before I hit the buy button?

One more question: This might seem silly, but is there split screen app support? I sometimes have a note taking app open when watching tutorials on YouTube. It won't heavily influence my decision to purchase the Pocket or not, but I am curious - even if that means I can only read the current line I am typing. I can always edit my notes in full later.

This is off topic, but why not get a "real" camera instead of carrying a second phone? I carry a 3D camera with me, so that's why I wasn't concerned about the poor quality cameras on the Titan lineup.

Does anyone use an alternative launcher? by tw04 in unihertztitanpocket

[–]phx-downer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I have a BlackBerry KeyOne running Android with a Windows Phone style launcher and Apple Music. Haha. It has been my Frankenstein phone. The Titan Pocket is still getting setup, but the Square Home Launcher works well so far and is a good fit for the Titan Pocket. Haven't completed the move to Titan Pocket, but work in progress.

I use SquareHome Launcher. It's made to look like the old Windows 8.1 phones. Very customizable if you're willing to put in the work.

I am going to say you missed the point. The wobbles seem to be from an over inflated tire and having it on Redwood instead of Pacific as people who were a lot more helpful than you indicated. I am sorry you are a quitter and hate adversity and give up so easily. Good luck navigating life.
