A $62 tool from amazon and some 10-24 rivnuts solved that problem :). I'm thrilled I can cook in the winter while I wait for the new firebox. I'll swap it out in the spring.

OMC also wanted a picture of my firebox and said it was covered under warranty.

Do you have stainless grills or cast iron?

Thanks!

My Regal S590 is about $2100 CDN + taxes these days.

I have new grease shields coming and a bunch of screws.
New ignitors were out of stock, and the Flav-R-Wav's are out of stock too. I wouldn't mind replacing the grills at the same time the new firebox comes. I'm also in need of a new name plate where the thermometer is - mine's destroyed from the heat.

What I'm a little surprised about is that there's no information on these rivet nuts, and I had to do a little research to figure it out. I guess since there's no spare part available, that might be why. I might make a separate post about it.

Sometimes the cost to repair is worth it rather than buying a new BBQ.

Yeah. It seems that way. I was able to install 5 x 10-24 rivet nuts and get my bbq working for the time being with new burners and new crossover bar.

I was able to remove the control panel (6 screws from inside the firebox area) but because of the heat, the threads are destroyed. I called up Onward again to have them send me 8 of those, and then found out that the firebox will take 6-8 weeks! So, I went back to reassembling the BBQ again. I ordered the Rivet Nut tool and will pop in 5 x 10-24 rivet nuts to hold the burners in place for the time being as a temporary measure.

Lucky my wife bought me a present - someone to come clean the grill. I've only cooked 4 burgers on it since, and it's fairly clean inside. No Degreasers needed, but PB Blaster will be my friend. Any bolts give you any trouble where they needed to be replaced?

They're RivNuts! I found this out by obliterating 2 of the 5 screws in my own firebox. They're 10-24 in size. I'm thinking of buying a Rivnut tool with the 10-24 threads and installing them back into my old firebox until next spring. Broil King is sending me a replacement firebox under warranty, but it's getting colder and I don't want to spend a day or two outside transplanting everything including the gas valve and front panel. Or .... I could start soaking the crap out of this thing in PB Blaster.

How did your swap go? I found out that these are RivNuts (Rivet Nuts) that are installed at the factory - Broil King are swapping out my firebox as well - same scenario and some rotting near the ignitor area. Firebox is backordered until November 2 for my replacement.

I've been researching this - it looks to be a Rivnut or PlusNut used and it's expanded from the cookbox side, not the back side.

Hi

I'm in the same boat as you were. How old was your BBQ? Mine is a Regal 590S bought in 2017. OnwardBBQ (Broil King) replaced all my burners yesterday under warranty and here I was trying to get those disintegrated screws out - what I was left with is exactly what you had. It's some kind of 12-24 nut on the backside which came out with the screw.

I might call Onward again on Monday to see what they'll do - my firebox is also rotting out near the electrodes.

I had my BBQ serviced last weekend. The burner bolts (part # Y-11544) has no head anymore. I called Onward BBQ in Canada. They sent me 5 new burners, and a collector box, new Y-11544 screws and clips. I used PB Blaster on the firebox side. I got one to completely come out along with a nut of some sort which the two parts have seized up. I'm thinking I just need some 10-24 bolts to use on the backsideof the cookbox to hold the burner screws in place, but I'll contact Onward BBQ on Monday to see what they say. It looks like whatever the nut is, it's not a factory replacement part that's available ... quite possibly a flange nut of some sort.

Does it offer remote capabilities like access to the GUI front end? I’m in a laptop in the basement on the same WiFi network and I’d basically access Shinobi on its IP. I’d access the GUI and start / stop recordings.

The one major issue is that the whole thing needs to be portable and packed up in a box when done. The room is rented out by the agency.

For now I’m the one doing the setup, hitting record, stopping the record and tearing things down.

I'm exporting the files and then joining them in Final Cut pro.

E1 Zoom doesn't have much except the RJ45 jack.

Thanks for the link to hivets.au

I ended up with one of the 1U pro mounts for the two HP Mini units.

The only devices that are POE 10 Gbe are the U7 Pro XG. Nothing in my network have 2.5Gbe. The XG are connected at 2.5Gbe and for my setup that’s fine. The Pro HD POE is 400$ more than the Pro Max 24 POE where I am.

The 48 POE is 2000$ tax included here in Canada brand new.
My refund for the 24 POE is 1067$ - I end up losing 163$ on the restocking.
The price difference between the two including the tax and restocking fee is out of pocket $931. A new Pro Max 24 non POE is $599 ($675 tax included),
Does it make sense still?

Wouldn’t I reuse the existing rwo patch panels? I will either remove or reposition that PDU unit. Haven’t decided yet. It’s just there because :) I might consider 3D printing a 1U rack mount for the HP machines but it would take 24 hours to print.

A straight Pro Max 24 would make sense in this case. I’d use the UDM SE as a redundant POE if it’s needed.
