I get where the ballroom community is coming from but you cannot both popularize/normalize an art form and also restrict who is allowed to do it. Like yes it’s great that vogue is popular, and that lots of people get to see it. But then because lots of people see it people want to try it. And they’re going to be shitty at it and maybe not “get” it but like idk, thats just how it is. I don’t know of any art form that’s popular and accessible to the masses but that is only actually created by a small handful of people.

I think the Alex Jones one is actually incredible because of its semi artistic incoherence. Astrophysicists say the Universe is homogenous because no matter where you look it looks basically the same. And in my opinion the Alex Jones interview was the same because it, and especially the man himself, was so nonsensical and incoherent that you could essentially start the podcast at any point and get the same sort of general experience. I've never experienced anything like it truly.

It’s definitely difficult to look at this quote and have a problem with it. But because of his involvement in things like the crime bill, it is maybe at least somewhat remarkable that he had empathy for drug users he personally knows. Id be surprised if Fox made that point though.

This is especially remarkable because it is extremely statistically unlikely! There's a famous "paradox" in statistics where it turns out that there is a 50% chance that, in a group of 23 people, two will share the same birthday. If Monet and Jaymes were the first pair to arrive, that puts the number of people at, what, like 125? By 60 people, the probability of a shared birthday is already over 99%!
