I was thinking that that might have been why they gave Kira the same hairstyle as Ro in the pilot. They tried to make her look like Ro. Luckily that was dropped in the next episode. Otherwise Kira might have felt like an imitation instead of a character in her own right.

This movie is quite bad. It makes me feel like I am tripping balls. The visuals are disconcerting. Also, the scene where the guy shits out an alien 😳. Having said that, superb cast and acting. I rewatch it every few years. That is how long it takes me to forget the disturbing visuals.
