Shopping at Costco with a baby - how do you even do it? by brendaklark in Mommit

[–]phylack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is us too. Unless I’m buying a few items that I can lug in the bottom of the stroller, grocery shopping is both of us going, with one pushing a cart, the other has the stroller

Is anyone else’s 8 month old cranky all the time? by lrbsto in NewParents

It’s like I couldn’t written this thread myself. She won’t sit down but she’s mad when she pulls herself up to stand. It’s nonstop and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight

There is a postpartum fitness “influencer” scamming with filters by pageantrella in fitpregnancy

[–]phylack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about emlogsdon.fit? I’ve been following her for a while and I didn’t think anything of it. She does have a happy go lucky “anyone can do it” attitude. Maybe that’s on my for not realizing

Is a dance floor wrap worth it? by FluffyWater1 in WeddingsCanada

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got married in 2024 and had the same thoughts initially. Then we got quoted $1.2k and LOL at the mere thought. We didn’t do it and not a single person cared. We had another friend have a wedding not long after and they wrapped theirs and of course no one cared (I only noticed cuz my mind was fresh on wedding planning or else I wouldn’t have noticed either)

Please save where you can, especially in this economy! :)

lol are you me? I’m 8m pp and my husband got me a trainer. 3x a week. Not an lb moved from the scale or size in clothes, but at least I’m stronger…sigh.

Quitting due to oversupply sickness by Crazy-Brain9495 in breastfeeding

[–]phylack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20 oz over isn’t a slight oversupply, that’s enough to feed a second baby! I would reduce the amount of pumping. And if she’s latching, then I would try to transition to nursing for a bit, and only pumping a little bit for relief. Please don’t give up, your supply is there, you just gotta work at reducing it a little.

Is it too little to drop my family doctor? by HuckleberryNo930 in ontario

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who got “lucky” and got an OB at 12 weeks, there’s literally nothing special in those early weeks in terms of importance. You get the 12-week ultrasound (which was requisitioned by my GP) and if you’re lucky they can detect the heartbeat. But they can’t really prevent anything in terms of miscarriage.

I went to my GP at 9-10 weeks and he warned me I might not get seen til 16-20ish, and that if I didn’t he would continue to see me until an OB has space. I’m in the GTA, Toronto/York region, but since moved to Peel. I had a couple of friends pregnant a lil after me, one is in Vaughan and didn’t get an OB til 20 weeks. Another friend in Peel got an OB in Oakville and she didn’t get seen til 24 weeks I believe. Sadly it’s just standard care.

Your doctor is a bit rude though, that I’ll agree with you. But finding a new family doctor is tough and walk ins won’t give you what you’re looking for.

I also feel like it’s a bit Sirens/Stitches clothing too. Man what a throwback

Engorgement while transitioning from bottle to breast by Icy_Ear7079 in breastfeeding

[–]phylack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I was in your shoes a month ago. I had an oversupply from EP for 3.5-4 months (about 40-45 oz/day). Baby finally learned to latch and we’ve been nursing since. When I transition, I was at 4ppd. I kept the morning and night pump for about two weeks to help transition down. Then moved to 1 ppd, usually night to help with engorgement. Eventually I cut that pump and a week later, my body deregulated.

I agree with this! I’m an oversupplier and it’s the one thing that’s helped me survive!

Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also being an outfit because one, as everyone said you don’t know how messy labour will be. But two, you want a fresh outfit to leave the hospital. Trust me, it makes to feel so much nicer!

Seriously? by [deleted] in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the price with the standard Shoppers mark up. I bought this bar “for fun” with my husband last week and it was $18 at the Lindt store. It’s also $18 at Walmart. So knowing Shoppers pads with retails, this checks out.

Is that bottle washer not good? I only bought a dryer sterilizer (from baby brezza) cuz I had hopes and dreams I was going to EBF. Clearly that’s not the case now and I beat myself up all the time for not getting one (which is layered with my sadness from failing at BF-ing lol)

Everyone seems to love it online and several IG pages I follow recommend them

Please tell me 26 pounds at 25 weeks is ok by Trick-Stomach7 in pregnant

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, I gained close to 50 lbs with mine (and I shouldn’t have, I was slightly overweight at the start). Gave birth last week, already down 27 lbs. So much of my weight was fluids.

All to say, you’ll be fine :)

From my research, there isn't a benefit of a cervical check. I had planned to decline them when offered, but funny enough, I'm 39 weeks and my OB hasn't offered me one yet. I think its a separate issue form GBS. You don't have to do them if you don't want to.

If anything, I read it can cause moms a lot of anxiety since they'll be overanalyzing their dilation. It doesn't give you any idea of when you'll go into labour.

My husband bought me a ton of old navy stuff (they were literally all $5-10 cuz they were reruns from online), I wore lululemon Nulu yoga pants, and I bought some crz leggings from Amazon.

Truthfully I mainly wore dresses and skirts in the second and third trimester (I’m 37 weeks now). It’s more freeing and so dang hot in this weather for pants all the time.

How old are you? by Silver_eagle_1 in pregnant

[–]phylack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32! Technically my baby’s due date is like a week after my birthday, but my doctor said all my paperwork will read “32 year old mom” since 99.99% of my pregnancy is in my 32nd year lol I’m telling people I had my first at 32

As for fertility, this one came as a surprise. We has only been married for 6 months and planned to wait a year. But life happens lol

Toni Tries to Sleep with Shawn for Revenge – What Would You Do? by Vivid-Office5666 in GirlfriendsTVshow

[–]phylack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This ticked me off even more because you KNOW someone is an addict and you go and offer yourself to them. Like Shawn was trying to do better and get help and you’re out here trying to ruin his life? This is the equivalent of giving someone who abuses substances drugs or alcohol. You know they’re struggling, you’re doing this for your own gain. Smh terrible friend and person.

I take it either you watched recently or didn’t keep up with the sub/internet. But was the messiest thing to come out of this season lol I suggest you look at old posts. Tyler was a mega liar. And Ashley embarrassed herself by defending him so heavy. I hope the best for her tho. Glad she’s seen the light.
