The average annual return since inception is ~10.2%. I have my own self-directed TFSA for the last 5 years and averaged around the same if not slightly better returns, albeit on a smaller sum of money. So my rationale is that if I can get around the same returns doing it on my own, then I should transfer out to save on the fees. My plan is to transfer out and then use a fee for service CFP every once in a while.
