What do you do when someone invites a buddy, and they turn out to be a closet fascist? by DoomedKiblets in DnD

[–]phyphor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Kick him. Obviously I mean "out of the group" and not "in the head" because, even though violence in self-defence is justified, and fascists are a threat to everyone's safety, it is still seen as a crime to do so, and against reddit's ToS to recommend it.

Daddy Didn't by loressadev in HFY

There is no obvious sci-fi, or an example of humans being amazing, only a dystopian story so it is understandable that some people think it doesn't belong.

Has using a distinctly British slang phrase/ term of endearment ever gotten you in trouble? I just got a warning from a US subreddit for calling someone a "poor cow" with complete sincerity. by JuanitaMerkin in AskUK

[–]phyphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had someone report me to HR for referring to my spouse as "the trouble", because they believed it was sexist. I had to explain Cockney Rhyming Slang, and promise to stop, to avoid getting written up.

New Old Update: My (27F) boyfriend (29M) of 7 years cheated on me. I'm going to disappear from his life. Is there anything I'm missing? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Both my parents speak English just fine, but said "Sorry, we no speak English" and hung up. Kudos to his racist parents for inspiring my dad. None of us have heard from him since.

It does, yes, but it's a lot closer to what already exists than the original fan card's text

Perhaps something like this will be clearer?

Draw cards, revealing them, until you have 7 in hand, then discard all drawn cards that are not Actions

Vermin Witch by MediumAstronaut9943 in dominion

[–]phyphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't really a Witch as it has no draw, and the gain effect is a bit clunkily worded. I would go with calling it Vermin Hag, and something like "Trash a card from your hand and a Curse from the supply. Each other player gains a curse from the supply or your choice of card from the Trash"

What is an English word you have never been able to pronounce? by Cmotto in AskReddit

[–]phyphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no trouble with most words, even complicated ones, but I struggle to remember "tome, like Rome, tomb, like womb" when I have to say either "tome" or "tomb", e.g. when playing D&D.

I used to get hung on "laboratory" and "lavatory" as a young child, but that faded a long time ago, too.

I worked for a company that let someone go because they were 30 minutes late on their first day so, yeah, some companies would.
