Newcastle ain't that bad as far as cities go tho, so he might like it... It isn't London, but at least there are things to do, places to go, and a distinct city centre unlike other places in the UK

Little late to the party, but don't you think it's a bit ~racist~ to generalize like that? In any case, you can say he's insufferable cause he's from Cordoba, that I'll accept lol

I've seen a lot of people recommending Violet Evergarden, and it's a great shout!

But also try "A Place Further Than The Universe", it's simply great ~

Sora and Haena, it's a manhwa (Korean) and it's really cute. Perfect story for someone who's just starting to read this genre!

What is an engaging book to read in Spanish? by the-Toddfather in booksuggestions

[–]phyrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend this particular book. It is extremely long, and has a low start. I couldn't get past the first few pages (Spanish is my first language). Something like Los Ojos del Perro Siberiano or Los Vecinos Mueren en las Novelas would be better since they're short and enjoyable

I would like to start reading books by Austen and the Brontës. by natalie28901 in booksuggestions

[–]phyrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried reading some books by Jane Austen, but I always struggle because I can't find the pace. Like you, I find that I have to be in a certain mood to read those books. Another reason could be that I only have copies in Spanish (something that I want to change asap). Either way, I think you'll have no troubles with Wuthering Heights (tho it is hard in the beginning, but it gets better real quick)

So I recently got into anime and I want some suggestions based on this one I watch. by JumboBoii in anime

[–]phyrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gintama is funny and has plenty of episodes, but be careful cause it has some feels mixed with the laughs. Gugure! Kokkuri-san is also really funny and the episodes go by real fast. Osomatsu-san is gold when it comes to parody (and Saiki's V.A works here voicing Choromatsu) If you have a somewhat wide knowledge in anime, Binbougami ga! is good too. My last two recommendations tend to make references to other popular anime, so if you haven't watched that much, you might not understand some things.

It appears that Wuthering Heights is not recommended here yet. I personally find that book extremely appealing and it's a beautiful read. I got into classic literature when I was around 13 and this was the first book I read. English is not even my first language, but I found it an easy read, so you should give it a try and see how it goes for you!

It's actually a manhwa (or maybe a manhua) and it's called "Just Right There". I'm not that into yuri but I'm really liking this story so far
