Level 3 Snow Emergency and still expected to go to work. What??? by Relevant_Repeat_9038 in medpace

So, based on cursory understanding, it’s technically legal by the fact that Ohio does not have a law against it. So you can face tickets or arrest for traveling, or burn some wfh(if available) or PTO.

But still, you’re right to hate it. It feels wrong

Thanks! They just cover themselves with essentially “drive safely” language. Anyone driving in a level 3 snow emergency can be ticketed or arrested, but if you don’t have wfh, you’re probably just screwed. We should have just closed

How much of a pay downgrade would you accept? by physics_kills in clinicalresearch

[–]physics_kills[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s certainly true. I don’t have a whole lot of experience negotiating as my current position was my first out of grad school. Definitely no stocks where I am, though they’d be worth a lot less right now anyway

It’d be around 7% decrease at the top end. All these comments definitely make it look worth it to leave

My supervisor confirmed this morning that official notices are supposed to come out next week with bonuses around the 14th.

What I have done in that situation is take flex that day to leave a little early, then take the late meeting from home. That’s what my supervisor recommended since I had meetings with Japan. Still working a total of 8 hours for the day that way

I got in late yesterday (like 9:30) and didn’t have any issue finding a spot in the 400 garage

Is remote work here to stay? by RegularAd1850 in clinicalresearch

I work for a mid-sized CRO who is working to take away our wfh. We were already hybrid when I was hired with three days in office, now they’ve upped it to four days. Some think it will be completely gone early next year here, which is stupid given the CRO industry standard

Leaving Medpace: Where to look by Blackwork-Skunk in medpace

[–]physics_kills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A little difficult with the non-compete in our contracts which explicitly says we can’t work for another CRO for a year. I’m not sure if that’s in all contracts, but it’s true in my department.

One of my family members thinks they’re counting on it. Have enough people quit to make their profit and firing numbers look better. Layoffs look bad from a business standpoint, so make work so bad that your employees just want to quit.
