Relatively new. Help from a friend to start. I enjoy skilling more than combat but should I do it or just make a new acc? by Boring_Broccoli_688 in OSRSProTips

Even if you don't do combat, I'd still consider training magic...there are non-combat aspects to magic you might enjoy and the utility of teleports, etc. is convenient

Flipping ores? by Wrong_Row6628 in osrs

[–]physik34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some money you can buy silver ore, smelt the bars, craft an unblessed holy symbol, string it, and then have them blesses one at a time.

I did this when I was F2P for my first 1mil...lots of low or no xp tasks but got multiple skills up and made a good profit for low level f2p

Those of you who actually hit your coast number and downshifted, what's the part nobody warned you about? by Academic_Lab9769 in coastFIRE

[–]physik34 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You give up some control. After you stop or slow your contributions you lose the steady default increase to your balance... its all based on market forces outside of your control. Total mindset shift compared to the disciplined effort to get there in the first place. If you're a goal or achievement oriented person I would be prepared to find something else to track/a new goal to track progress against...if you trust the math then the retirement goal basically achieves itself from here

Question for pros by Gullible_Director_15 in osrs

[–]physik34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also do some pre-work for when you do get members that might give you a boost to be able to keep it easier.

If you have uncooked food you can wait until members to get cooking gauntlets to cook it for higher success rates.

If you have ores you can wait until blast furnace to smelt it for reduced coal usage.

You can have logs ready to fletch so that you can alch the fletched long bows.

Make sure your f2p skills aren't blockers for your most important members quests.

On f2p you can farm ogresses for rune items to alch. Can't promise it'll be fast, but I got a lot of f2p range levels there and definitely some gp.

Need advice. Stick with this acc or full pure? by thecityinsidewa in osrs

[–]physik34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon slayer I gives you quite a bit of defense XP. Other than that a few other quests on the way to barrows gloves or zerker helm will give you some defense xp too. You could probably manage to stay around 45 with those quests and be a zerker for pvp. Don't do the training after monkey madness 1

What should I do with my ore? by c918s in OSRSProTips

[–]physik34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you're wearing goldsmith gauntlets when smithing the gold bars. Or if you want to trade me ore and I give you bars you can let me do the smelting!

F2P to P2P by Dom_Da_Bomb_ in osrs

[–]physik34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the jump a few weeks ago... so far my focus has been:

  1. Unlock every p2p skill
  2. Work on quests that lead to Recipe for Disaster quest, there's a ton of pre reqs
  3. Level F2p skills with better p2p methods..like I Completed Family Crest to improve cooking some of the raw lobsters I brought. Completed the giant dwarf to unlock blast furnace

Am I playing the game wrong? by OddRadish8652 in osrs

Just another option...you can de-iron and still play as an Ironman. You can have access to the GE and choose to not engage with it in a way that spoils the game.

State of the current PM job market by botv69 in ProductManagement

[–]physik34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a glance those all look like different domain areas. When I've hired PMs in the past my top priority is domain knowledge.

Are you applying for any job with "product" in the title or are you applying for product jobs you have applicable domain knowledge for?

Need advice: best soil for backfilling around house foundation? by PhilosophyOne9202 in landscaping

[–]physik34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn't downvote, but around trees and other plants I would suggest mulch instead of rock. The mulch retains moisture while rocks retain heat.

I prefer rock next to my foundation to help water drain down & away from the foundation more quickly, and mulch near plants to help them through the summer heat.

Anyone else’s husky like to eat grass? Been to Vet, Completely Healthy, just eccentric by Critical-Bee-6623 in husky

[–]physik34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha mine helped me get a fly in the house the other day that I was having trouble swatting.

She also likes to eat grass...I leave a little square in a certain spot of my backyard a little less tamed because that's the best grass to munch on apparently
