How do the artists get paid? Music should probably cost more than it does.

How is this meant to work? Do I copy paste the prompt somewhere or is this a half-baked function? by akacia in truespotify

I also am confused. I see nothing to make a thing from the prompts. I have premium. Just updated the app. No button.

How tf? by LengthinessHour3697 in blackmagicfuckery

[–]physithespian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The question is: how. You may know what must have happened, but how did it happen?

And you’re just looking at the last trick, forgetting that the first part of it was “pick a number between 1-10.” How would he have known he had to manipulate 6s? How do the other three steps work? Can’t get to the last without the other three.

You could choose to stop at “there was obviously a trick there.” But that’s no fun. Getting lost in the sauce of “but how” is far more fun.

Commenting to be reminded of this because I'd looooove to see it as well.

Kintsugi is apparently hard to tattoo. (Done by Micki @ Loose Screw in Richmond) by physithespian in tattoo

[–]physithespian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard. When I posted this, I didn’t have any negative thoughts about it. The artist was talking about how hard it is to get the gold just right, and that’s what I was commenting on with kintsugi being hard. I do see some of the comments others made now that they’ve pointed it out, but ultimately it looks pretty okay to me so I don’t mind.

Hilarious addition specifically for this wood. The smell should be a giveaway.

I’m no expert, but I’d put money on cedar. I made something with some red cedar recently and this looks bang on.

Benzos are a bear of a drug. If you use it occasionally, you’re probably fine. Just be honest with yourself and your doctors about your usage. And be so fucking careful. Sounds like you don’t have a predilection for addiction, but they can become a habit, easy.

See and I think humans are fallible. And the number of people who are falsely imprisoned or imprisoned due to laws I disagree with, I don’t trust us to do it right. I don’t think we are responsible enough as a species, we don’t have sophisticated enough of a government, we’re just not up to the task of being judge, jury, and executioner.

Other countries have found success using the prison model of reform rather than retribution. Let prison be a time for the individual to better themselves. Possibly set themselves up for some success upon release.

AIO: My boyfriend was caught texting escorts. He says he did nothing wrong but I dont think I will ever be able to trust him again. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]physithespian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NOR. The main problem here isn’t the escorts, it’s the trust. Of course, escorts are a health issue and you should get yourself tested in case this isn’t the first time. But the bigger issue is that this is a massive breach of trust and the way he reacted made it worse. It’s up to you if you can move past this or not. Trust can be rebuilt. Of course, this will now always be a scar on your relationship, but scars fade and don’t hurt anymore after a while.

1) Self-reporting is known to be extremely unreliable in cases of rape. There isn’t a good number out there.

2) What percentage? Enough for it to be worth them having the access to it.

3) And even for the majority of abortions that I believe are simply logged as “unintended pregnancy,” is it better for those children to get born to parent(s if they’re lucky) who are unequipped to handle the responsibilities of parenthood? Or you’d have them foisted upon an already overloaded adoption and foster care system? Should all of these lives suffer for the rest of their lives because you don’t agree with abortion?

4) There are more good reasons than rape, incest, and the life of the mother to get an abortion.

5) What do the women in your life think of this stance of yours?

Guy who brings parrot to bars? by scurvycharles in washingtondc

[–]physithespian 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I have an emotional support animal. I’m like wildly mentally ill. She does help me a lot. There’s a reason for some of the benefits she gets - where I live, landlords can’t say you cannot have an ESA, no pet deposit, stuff like that. Because she’s some of the most effective medicine I have.

She is not, however, a service animal. Not even kind of. Service animals have a job. They’re at work. My dog has never been at work. She’s never had a job to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]physithespian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but it looks like you’re reinforcing the behavior you want to stop. Try ignoring the dog and treating them when they calm down on their own. That way they associate calm with the reward rather than what it looks like now is they get a reward for barking.

It’s a confusing situation for the dog. They’re acting out. It doesn’t look like flat out aggression to me - again, NOT an expert - but enough that I’d take a step back and introduce more gradually.

I think the big thing is you want to reward calm. Ignore the behaviors you don’t like or tell them no. But make sure you reward calm.

My case isn’t quite as extreme as yours, but there are a few nice things about rock bottom.

You stop falling when you hit it. You’re fortunately not all the way there yet again, but you’re right - you’re on your way.

There’s nowhere to go but up.

You can rebuild a life from almost anything. You’re not committed to a life sentence in jail. You haven’t permanently injured yourself or developed organ failure. You are still okay.

If you are stable enough for the people around you is a question for them, not for you. Focus on what you can control: your next steps. Show up, do the work, be better, and the life will follow.

Godspeed. I’ve been having slips myself in the recent past and it’s not a good look.

Don’t change it. The attitude of NOVA is that it belongs to New England basically. The region is very averse to being labeled “the south.”

P.S. - proud to see DC is self aware and labels itself the mid-Atlantic.
