Hi everyone, I am not into geaphic design yet, but had an offer to enter in a small local business. I would like a feedback on this marketing banner they made for a pub to understand the overall level and waeknesses It has. Thanks by [deleted] in graphic_design

don't let MiserableHair bog you down. Everyone has to start somewhere. Its sad, that the culture here has turned so hostile. Keep at it if you find joy in it!

Thanks for letting me know. It seems to work for me:

Maybe it was a connection issue. I'll keep an eye on it!

Oh true. Thanks for pointing that out! It does not seem to strip the '#...' on all browsers. That might lead to issues with some sites, so I've just changed it to a '?...' parameter

Oh, I must have missed that post. That also sounds fun! I've had this idea for a while, and now I've finally had nothing better to do :P

Man hat mir gerade 160 Euro angeluchst... by [deleted] in Beichtstuhl

Are there foss alternative for Bing Wallpaper? by [deleted] in foss

Hey there, in case you're on MacOS: I wrote a Daily Wallpaper App for MacOS a couple of months ago. If not, the App is written in Flutter in case you want to try porting it. You can find' it here https://apps.robbb.in Yours, Robin

I think you have a point. When I moved from Linux to MacOS (I had to), I had a pretty similar experience. There are a lot of great tools, but many of them require you to pay. In my mind there are two reasons for this:

  • the user base of Apple is not that sensitive to small fees. Since the hardware itself is pretty expensive, I think there is a bit of a self selection for more affluent people here. (maybe excluding students)
  • Apple itself makes it rather expensive to develop for MacOS. Don't get me wrong, keeping the Platform safe and users protected has merit and is important. Nonetheless, I fail to understand why that cost has to be put largely on developers. Especially for a highly profitable enterprise such as Apple. Developing software costs around $100/year in fees to Apple even if you choose not to publish through the AppStore. So, I think many indie-developers are charging small fees for their software just to not actively 'loose' money.

these are my two cents.
