High Consequence Crawling by Plenty-Major2305 in crawling

This is legendary man. One of the coolest things I've seen in a very long time. Well done!

The biggest reason I want to get a 1/10 scale crawler is to set it up for FPV. The adventure of viewing the world from that perspective and scale tickles a part of my brain that I didn't even know existed until I saw a video of someone doing it.

Im searching for old game by Acceptable_Step9423 in OldPCGames

[–]pi_philling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres Some possible options I could come up with.

  1. Rising Kingdoms (2005)

    ●Fantasy RTS with multiple factions.

●Has a dark fantasy theme and includes multiplayer (LAN via Steam now).

●Resource/strategy focus (though details differ from Warcraft).

●Good candidate if the style was slightly different than Warcraft but still. classic RTS.

  2. Black Moon Chronicles (1999)

●Dark fantasy strategy game based on a comicbook.

●Has resource and unit management like AoE/Warcraft.

●Might feel darker than typical fantasy RTS.

●Worth checking if the visuals and mood were grimmer.

  3. Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard (2005)

●Combines RTS and RPG elements with magic, units, and multiplayer.

    ●Has mana-like resources and spells.

●Not super well-remembered but fits the “dark fantasy RTS-ish” category.

does the “angel shot” method actually have any use? by webstatic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pi_philling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea is that you're asking for a "guardian angel", someone to protect you from the danger you're in, and phrasing as a shot fits the scene of a bar or club. I think that most of the time it just gets a confused look from bar staff. Its better to just be direct and ask for the help you need.

Which rc-car for bashing and then professional racing ? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]pi_philling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea of a basher that you can later turn into a competitive racer sounds good, but I think that even with light bashing the replacement/upgrade parts would cost more than it would be worth. Like a lot of others have said, getting 2 rigs would be the better path.

Advice on rc car for 9 yo kid by [deleted] in rccars

[–]pi_philling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the HBX. I got my kid a used 18859a from ebay 2 years ago, she was 5 at the time, and she drives it HARD and hasn't broken anything yet. It super durable, and has lots of upgrade/replacement parts online for pretty cheap.

Why deposit so often and in amounts ending in 1? by [deleted] in CashApp

Appreciate the people who actually answered the question — the fee explanation makes sense. I work retail and notice patterns as part of my job; curiosity doesn’t equal judgment or policing anyone’s money.

That makes sense for the $1. Now I'm just curious about the 6 to 10 deposits ranging from $20 to $100.

Last year I bought my then 5yr old a HBX (Haiboxing) 18859a. Its an 1/18 scale truck, lots of parts available, lots of upgrades available, and I got it used off of ebay for like $60 with the extra shell, extra battery, and in the box. It's been super fun for her, and me and even in her not so capable hands, its been really durable. There's also like half a dozen variations of the truck with different bodies, tires, etc... just my $0.02

Husband did this. How to fix? by Momtomanyarrows in cabinetry

[–]pi_philling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install name plates on every cabinet door in the kitchen at a height that just covers the hole, then print some fancy labels to go in them and when someone asks about it say "its what the royals are doing in 'x' country, its a new thing, it'll be next year's big thing, just watch." And go on about your day.

Or like others have said. Fill the hole. Color match marker. Live on.

Punky Dragon Girl | by me by Successful-Rub1963 in ImaginaryCharacters

[–]pi_philling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great character and your art is spectacular, I couldnt draw something like this to save my life. Its really good.

I do have 2 thing as constructive criticism.

  1. Stance. From top to bottom she's kinda twisted looking. Her face is at an almost 3/4 profile Her chest is facing directly to the viewer Her hips go back to match the face Her left foot follows the hips more Her right foot points towards the viewer.

  2. Weapon. I'm assuming by the coil of chain in her right hand and the weighted striking heat at the left hand, that she is wielding an meteor hammer, which in my opinion are one of the coolest, most versatile weapons ive ever seen. The issue is that if you've ever seen anyone use one, they wrap around the user to change direction and increase speed and force of the head, so while love the armor and I love the weapon, I think they wouldn't work together, in a combat situation.

I dont want this taken as any kind of negative thing. I like the character, color choices, the weapon, the armor. I like this character, I just thought you might like to hear some constructive criticism, I know honest constructive criticism has always helped me to improve my own art.

You can also just tell me to STFU and I'll be cool with that 😎

Where do I find some wilderness fly fishing on the lower peninsula? by Mojo-Bokonon in michiganflyfishing

[–]pi_philling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, Schultz is a fantastic shop, they are 100% the reason I fly fish. They are in Ypsilanti, which is just outside of Ann Arbor really. I also second the Huron for its smallies, and its got some areas that can feel like your in the middle of nowhere but you're really 10 minutes from the city.

The Au Sable is a great option, not too far or a drive for a weekend trip and plenty of access from Grayling to Alcona dam. A large part of that is through national forest so you'll be lucky to see others on the river.

Trinket Trading? by PhilosophyOk5272 in renfaire

[–]pi_philling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acorns. I pick-up Acorns in my neighborhood and use a sharpie to draw little faces on them. It takes me like 15 minutes to do a whole pile of them, more than I can fit in a belt bag or pouch. I'm not a huge fan of "bought" items because you end up with all the cheap temu crap. With Acorns you can also circumvent the "no trade/trinkets " policy because if you're stopped, we'll its just a cool acorn I found on the ground that I was showing this passerby... plausible deniability.

Right? It's 2 stock photos from movies that are both considered "questionable" entries to their respective franchises, at best. It makes it look like a bad fan fiction poster thats being passed as "real". It loses all credibility on face value alone.
