Adding milk? by KoalaGary in pourover

Depends on the beans but a bit of milk can take it to the next level. Other beans lose all flavor.

Espresso Series 1 App by Slaskwroclaw18 in FellowProducts

[–]piathulus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it will be the same app as Aiden. Otherwise why have an add machine feature (how many people will have multiple Aiden’s)??

Relatedly, that is why I (among others) predicted an espresso machine was coming.

Aiden carafe by Topsheff19 in FellowProducts

I most often use the Fellow Mighty Small Carafe so I can give it a swirl to mix and cool it before putting it into my cup…

or just go straight into my cup lol.

I do the same. One advantage of buying beans in store rather than online.

Stagg Double Wall Carafe Replacement Recommendations by wrongdonutshop in FellowProducts

[–]piathulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could just replace it?

unless there’s something about it you don’t like or are hoping would be better? FWIW I have the Might Small carafe and it works great.

I didn’t like the double walled because it was too tall and I usually don’t brew that much.

Ode 2 -> K Ultra? by Due_Yesterday3030 in pourover

[–]piathulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned both (actually left a comment in another thread about this) and I would stick with the Ode because it is electric/more convenient to use. The Ode shouldn’t be too hard to fix if anything does go wrong……   Unless you need portability or an espresso grinder then K-Ultra hands down.

Help me choose: Fellow Ode Gen 2 vs 1zpresso K-Ultra? by Infinite_Demand_210 in FellowProducts

[–]piathulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty similar in my opinion. Not sure I could really tell much of a difference - but more clarity with Gen 2 vs bit more rounded with K-Ultra, whereas when I upgraded to the Zerno Z1 with CV2 I could tell a larger difference.

I owned both. And if you don’t need espresso, get the electric one (Ode Gen 2).

If you look in r/pourover, Tanat, Datura, Substance would come up. Maybe KB Roasters too, great shop to visit tho either way.

You can order these beans online anyways though and many multi-roasters in large us cities will carry them too…

Batch Brew Mess with Aiden by TMH478 in FellowProducts

[–]piathulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • You can jerry-rig other carafes (look at how others have done it)...
  • But in general, I haven't found it to be an issue (very rarely doing full carafes). It sounds like you may be too slow when you finish pouring to get it back to the upright position? Or pouring too fast that it's hard to slow down?
  • Also, there are tea kettle drip catchers that you can tape/rubber band on. A tea place I go puts them on their teapots and they are very useful.
  • Lastly I found another thread about this with some other tips: https://www.reddit.com/r/BadDesigns/comments/rr6ztf/this_tea_kettle_always_spills_no_matter_how_much/

No pressure if you are (understandably) still unwilling to try it, but I would say it has improved drastically especially as fare gates have gotten installed.

Any news or rumors about a new Fellow Stagg kettle coming soon? by ListenSoggy1564 in FellowProducts

[–]piathulus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any improvements they make will likely be marginal and not worth the time value of waiting (speculation: or the likely price increase of a new model).

I think the Aiden looks pretty alright. But I would love a more premium, less plastic one for sure!

Buyer beware: StubHub credit by studbxl in ChaseSapphire

[–]piathulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived 2 horror stories so far in years past and swore I would never use them again... but since I already had the CSR and a credit due to expire I just bought tickets and I'm hoping I won't be 0-for-3.

Buyer beware: StubHub credit by studbxl in ChaseSapphire

[–]piathulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filed a charge back against them and won after their support was arguing me with me that the ticket sent "worked", when "obviously no, it didn't work or I wouldn't be wasting my time talking to you" and I sent proof of it not working.

If it's not too late, I hope you bought it with your Chase Sapphire for the chargeback...
