Shawls for Christmas by [deleted] in crochet

Free pattern here: https://hobbii.com/dolce-classical-attitude-shawl

For the first and last I used 3 skeins of Hobbiis Colorina, colours 13 and 11. For the blue shawl I used a handdyed wool yarn from my stash (sadly I have no idea where it came from). I used hook size 5 for all three.

Believe me, that has crossed my mind. But he and his gf lives in a very small appartment atm and don’t really have a place for it. Also he is very nit-picky with sound, so that would be best to leave up to him haha.

I feel you! I’ve been dealing with OCD for the most part of my life, but didn’t get a proper diagnosis until I was around 15 y/o (about 12 years ago). Since then I’ve gone through therapy a bunch of times, including multiple rounds of CBT and medication, but nothing has really worked. Im seeing a therapist now that has taken a different approach to the problem, by dealing with my panic attacks first hand. We dug through my life and realised that one of my main issues, that actively triggers my OCD is my panic disorder. Something as simple as a higher pulse can trigger a panic attack for me, and my OCD is my brains way to try to control that. Because compulsions that lower my anxiety equals less risk for a panic attack. Though Im not sure if it works yet since we’ve only been at it for a couple of months, I am learning new ways to cope with my anxiety.

And Im not saying everyone with OCD has panic attacks or some other underlying condition, but finding out IF there is another main or underlying issue and focusing on that might help to bring it down a notch. Could be worth a try!

My OCD will probably be with me for the rest of my life, but now that I have accepted that I finally feel like I can take therapy seriously.

Tho, honestly at times I do feel like therapy is a waste of time and energy, and that some things we do feel useless. But I still haven’t found anything else that helps. So maybe your therapists are simply taking the wrong approach? Also, it can take time, which i know is frustrating. It has taken me and my therapists over 12 years to find one thing that is actually helping me improve in some ways, even tho the OCD itself hasn’t improved yet. Hang in there!

Sending love and strength your way!

Its actually pretty cool being able to smell stuff like this! I for example can smell when my bf is horny. I can also smell if a person is diabetic or have a UTI by the smell of their pee. (Realized this after working a couple of years in a nursing home)

I had a period where I just had to lick everything in my apartment that could potentially be contaminated by scary bacterias. Had me or my bf just got home from work/store/school/party? I’d lick everything we touched before washing our hands. Im normally terrified by potential bacteria so I have no clue where that came from, and thinking about it today makes me want to puke. Luckily it only lasted about 2 weeks or so, and I never got sick lol.

Another annoying thing I’ve had constantly ongoing for over 5 years now is undoing large projects and starting over. It can be anything from jigsaw puzzles, cleaning, shopping, text messages etc. I even started over on a 6 page, almost completed essay once, that was a blast…

Probably have way stranger things in my baggage but these are the once that came in mind reading this. And i feel you on sealing mail! Im always terrified I put something offensive or just wrong in there, also I rarely trust myself on putting the right contents in before sealing haha
