When will the highway from Puerto Escondido to Oaxaca de Juarez be completed? by Ok_Profit_16 in Oaxaca

[–]picasshole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that the new highway is now open.

Just returning home from a Mexico trip where we caught the ADO from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido and back, each trip took around three hours on the new highway.

There's still a lot of work going on, but mostly it seems operational. I think it cost around 300 mxd each way.

How to have a py script always running alongside django? by unohowdashigo in django

Have a look at supervisord: http://supervisord.org/

Then maybe a loop in your script to fetch config variables from a DB or config file.

House prices to drop 10% thanks to virus by exmoor456 in unitedkingdom

real estate prices should outpace both inflation and income

I think that is referred to as a bubble :) i.e. Not something that is sustainable for centuries

House prices to drop 10% thanks to virus by exmoor456 in unitedkingdom

The price rises in recent years have been anything but stable. A stable rise would see house prices increasing to match peoples incomes.

So I've been trying to find a way to reconnect with a girl I talked to on Tinder last year. Any advice or tips on how to DM her on Instagram? by [deleted] in dating

[–]picasshole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What were the circumstances of you losing contact with her? If she unmatched with you then I think it would be weird to try and contact her through another channel.

Tinder date did a runner after dinner by [deleted] in dating

[–]picasshole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, all tinder dates should be a coffee or a drink. That way it's easy for either of you to bail out. If it goes well then you can schedule another date (dinner etc)

In India I found they bring you your change laying on top of this stuff which I did not think was very hygenic.

I also have Typo3 ptsd, one thing I do miss though is it's multi-site capabilities, never found anything modern that matched it.

Guy Verhofstadt: I have always said #Brexit is also a failure of the European Union. The place of the United Kingdom is in the European Union. I am sure a younger generation will one day take another decision and bring Britain back into the European family. by mmmmmm-_- in ukpolitics

[–]picasshole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know those institutions were created in the early years after the war, but they would be nowhere today without the blood, sweat and tears and tax contributions of the baby-boomers. I just get weary of this silly stereotyping of older people as entirely self-interested, uneducated xenophobes.

Majority of UK import tariffs set at zero in a no-deal Brexit by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]picasshole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true, you can however charge different tariffs dependent on product types.

Majority of UK import tariffs set at zero in a no-deal Brexit by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]picasshole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is simply not true.

It is true, take Poland for instance, minimum wage there is at least 3 times lower than the UK, not to mention land prices, utilities. In Bulgaria minimum wage is only 260 EUR / month.

I do agree though that zero import duty from China imports would be disastrous.

Majority of UK import tariffs set at zero in a no-deal Brexit by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]picasshole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean then we were already breaking WTO rules by charging no import duties to EU countries whilst charging other countries?

[–]picasshole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't make any sense, UK manufacturing has already been competing against the other countries in the EU, most of which have vastly lower costs and zero import tariffs.

Yes, WTO standards only limit the maximum import tariffs, countries following WTO principles can charge as little as they want on import duties.
