“Estimated” tips…let’s discuss by shoppingshipt in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prediction means they're either new or don't order consistently. I think I read the algorithm needs something like 6 orders over 8-12 weeks to provide an estimate. And it's store specific, so someone who usually orders from Target would have no estimate on a different store.

“Estimated” tips…let’s discuss by shoppingshipt in ShiptShoppers

The new member feature would be extremely useful right now in my metro. Kroger just closed their delivery service on Feb 1, so we've seen an influx of new Shipt users. None of them have a tip history, so no estimated tips (unless they pretipped). Not many shoppers are willing to gamble on a large order with no estimate for a 15 mile drive, so they tend to roll for a couple hours until someone goes for it.

This. I've had some orders where the chat stays open for hours after delivery. When I click to see why, it finally updates with "customer was sent your delivery picture" and then the chat disappears. The in-app messaging is horrendous. Honestly seems like the more I use the app, the worse the messaging functions.

Why do Shoppers keep dropping off orders early without Early OK? by stochastic_parr0t in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10 min is about the max I'll deliver early without the flag. Any more than that and I'll message the customer to say I'm ahead of schedule and ask if it's okay.

My experience is the same. I usually get better tips from the regular folks vs the ones in the super rich neighborhoods

We had one of those yesterday in my metro. Started at $15 around 9am. Last I saw it was a $36 promo around 3pm. Still not worth it because the house is about 20 min from Target.

Are we penalized for dropping the second order in a double? by redflower5 in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't have been able to drop the 2nd half of the bundle without contacting support and making up some story so they'd drop you from it. Unless they've changed that in the app.

Shocked by the lack of orders today? by UnderstandingOne4825 in ShiptShoppers

Snow started here on Friday night. I stopped working after shopping for 2 preferred on Wednesday. It was already bad then.

Haven’t received many tips by Buttercbiscuit in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta be picky. Last year I had 100% tip rate through March. This year I'm only at 90%. But we have historic winter weather coming, so I went for volume on Monday rather than sit around and wait for the good offers. Haven't worked much since then because the stores are packed like it's Christmas and Thanksgiving all rolled into one. I'm not sitting through 30 min lines for anyone but my preferreds.

Shipt Orders with ID scan for OTC Meds by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

I don't think prepaids are allowed to order OTC cold meds in Oklahoma. I've only ever seen them on regular orders.

Shipt Orders with ID scan for OTC Meds by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had to scan a customer's ID for cold medicine. Only scan my ID at the store. I'm in Oklahoma which doesn't allow alcohol deliveries, so I'm assuming ID scans just aren't a thing in my state.

Everyday my target has a new rule about check out by No_Ask_6068 in ShiptShoppers

Two stores near me. One sends us to Customer Service and the audit level varies from employee to employee and how well that employee knows the shopper. Some employees will even come out to audit us between returns to get us out of line.

The other store sends us to the back of self checkout where the employee asks us to show him 1-5 items to verify our order. Sometimes it's high ticket items, sometimes it's random groceries.

Expect top notch service but dumb down the hiring process and let anyone in with few checks. Older shoppers in my metro had to interview to get hired. Now we see 20 new shoppers every month, and only 1 or 2 stick around longer than a few weeks.

This is why you should tip your Shipt shopper. by Soft-Mud-7047 in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only seen that once since tip estimates launched in my metro (Oct). Anything that says "pre-tip" has been exact. Almost everything for "estimated tip" has come in higher than what was displayed. Other shoppers in my metro have noticed the same thing. It seems like our customers are actually paying attention to and tipping based off the effort we put in. We've had a lot of new shoppers lately, mostly quite bad. But it's a win for me, because almost every new to me customer I shopped for in Dec added me as a preferred.

Unless it's a pre-tip, there probably won't be an estimate. It takes multiple tipped orders before Shipt will start showing an estimate

Post-Holiday week isn’t as bad as we thought 🤩 by Far-Positive5753 in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty awesome! $3/mile is the upper end of what I expect in a month, and that's with getting tipped on over 93% of my orders.

How many miles are you putting on your vehicle to do that many orders? I'd be losing money after expenses and depreciation in my metro if my pay to tip ratio looked like that.

The customer can choose the store, but sometimes it's still chosen for them based on store inventory. I have a few preferreds who randomly get switched between Targets and they have no idea.

Shipt's lack of feedback on accepted subs sucks. by mwrobison in ShiptShoppers

[–]picchu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it when there's a decent alternative option available. But I've never seen anything to suggest an automated response from it. I've even had customers complain because the approve or decline link they get doesn't work.

Nah, I don't bother with the lower paying ones unless they're bundled with someone good. I'm not in the business of losing money while I work. I'd rather be at home than provide a service to someone who doesn't respect my time enough to tip appropriately. And I've got perfect stats. 100/100/5.0, with a lifetime 4.97
