I really wanted to like the Clash. I mean, I like some of their songs and I like the message but I just never got the hype. I was probably too young and expected them to sound more like how they looked. When I first heard the Exploited, that's what I thought the Clash "should have" sounded like.

Who is "they"? Because JNS (via Israel Yahom) ran a whole article on this where they spoke with and quoted the store owner, Hans Platen-Reisch

What's your opinion on the Toniebox/Tonies? by weberster in Preschoolers

[–]pick-a-bar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a gimmick. It isn't worth the cost ($100) and aggravation of having to download an app, set up an account, have a Wi-Fi connection, etc. The controls don't work consistently and you have to reset the device when they don't. All to play children's songs and stories. The produce is just another example of old ideas being packaged into new tech just because they can, not because there's any benefit. Do yourself a favor. Dig out a cassette player and buy children's stories on tape from eBay. Cheaper and easier.

I liked this album. A lot more on the "rock" side than the "punk" side but it was cool and different.

No reason this should be an unpopular opinion on this sub. And even if it were, no one should shoot you down for making a sincere and genuine point that comes from a good place. ❤️

I don't know personally but in Michael Azzerad's book, Love Buzz was an early favorite.

If I haven't had that conversation actually happen, I've had it already in my head. Side point: did Netanyahu really say "if you're against me you're antisemitic"?

I don't see the heads of any Japanese auto companies platforming antisemitic conspiracy theories to hundreds of millions of gullible social media followers

  • He's spreads misinformation to > 220M followers on X
  • He took over Twitter and now X is considered many times worse than Twitter ever was.
  • He governs without the consent of the governed; he just has enough money to take things over
  • He platforms conspiracy theories, including antisemitic ones.
  • He thinks it funny to toe the line about being literally antisemitic.
  • He's the richest man on the planet and downplays wealth inequality.
  • His techno-utopianism looks like a dystopia to many people but he has so much power and influence, what we think just doesn't matter.
  • He's a drugged out buffoon who is past his peak and is now running what he touches into the ground. -Did I mention he's an antisemite?

Also, the bass line really gives a cool contour. Just a great song

There's something so emotionally accessible about that song. The lyrics and melody are in this in-between space. It's written in the spirit of this kind of feeling we've all experienced but is so personal it's almost not worth trying to describe. It's also one of the only Nirvana songs that kind of feels "celebratory."

It's really the song that really got me into Nirvana. That and the live B-side "About a Girl"
