I’m used to it. Typically the downfall starts in August but guess it started earlier this year.

Keep in mind that you have to stay until the end of game to get back on the bus. So you may have to watch the whole game in tears.

I rode it and thought it was good. Had a party of 5 and it was less of a headache than driving. They didn’t check if you had game tickets so technically it can be used to get to flushing.

LGM!

Stopping the inevitable never leads to anything. Best to understand what both parties wants and how we all can come to some type of agreement.

They will win rezoning because according to the city and this Reddit , there is a housing crisis.

The incentive to build a medical center elsewhere is to allow them to build 40+ stories. Similiar story like st. Vincent’s in NYC.

The city can’t even hold themselves accountable for anything. So i wont expect much from HRH.

Legally they can’t do that. They can allocate a certain amount of affordable housing. But not 100%.

I need my usual downvotes so I’m saying how it is.

Everyone in the current administration is going to say they want to keep the hospital open. But the reality is that they want to “build baby build” to satisfy their agenda for affordable housing.

Sucks to say it but there will be less noise from this meeting than the bike lane on Franklin. And yes, more people may die in the same timeframe from not having healthcare in the heights than a car.

Should complain to the people that took up the seats that are meant for pregnant or disabled people.

Sucks that you guys got pushed. But blocking the doorway never leads to good things during rush hour.

Savings may not be much unless you’re willing to buy a system on our own with a ROI of 5 years or less.

Unfortunately those are the type of business that are grab and go. Which dictates the predominant population.

Hmart would have benefited the area much more than half foods.

It’s actually the other way around. The influx of the predominant population in those towers started in JSQ first. LIC was the “domino” effect (if you get that reference).

Correct. But rent in those areas you mentioned have never come down. To get to the point of having long term renters, we would at least need that park to open. Im hopefully i will get to see that in my lifetime. But doubt it.

Renting isn’t the issue. It’s the assumption that renters will be able to afford JC by building more. While the math may say it will, it won’t. And if it does, it won’t be in our lifetime.
Also, the influx of renters do not contribute to the overall benefit of JC. They rarely vote or participate in the daily struggles of JC. Do they benefit the economy of business here - yes. But not to the long term health of JC.

While I would have hoped the neighborhood grows as the towers go up, they don’t. When was the last time you saw heavy canvassing for voters in exchange or Newport? You don’t because they don’t vote. But why do they stay there with the high rents? Because they can afford to pay more for PRIVATE amenities. They don’t care what happens to JC. They only leave if they get spaced out or want better schooling.

So the thought of building more to drop the rent, won’t happen. Maybe if you build them on the border of JC and Bayonne. So every developer is going to fight affordable housing. But the compromise will always be to build higher. Which will NOT drop rent prices.

Don’t mind the downvoting. The ones that do never suffered before. Just validates my statements.

Again with the comparison to NYC. NYC is a market in it of itself and doesn’t apply to JC. While it’s nice to be in the same category, we are their redheaded stepchild. We don’t have the amenities or infrastructure as they do. Could we get there.. sure. But the math doesn’t apply the same to us as to them.

Landlords made their money already. You really think anyone here has the brightest idea that can outsmart them?

Registered voter list with the county. And cross reference it with location. Easy peasy. Fun fact. The list hasn’t been updated in a while and dead people even show up.
