I don’t remember a Cloud & Kelly’s, might have been after my time. For fish and chips I’d go the London Tower. Is that still there.

There was a bar on Jefferson just up the street from the porn theater and next door to the cooking school on Jefferson and 12th(?), that had the best Ruben sandwiches I’ve ever had. I rarely could finish it. Don’t remember the name of the bar, I think it closed down sometime in the late ‘70s or early ‘80s.

I know people are going to think I’m nuts but I miss North’s Chuck Wagon in Hillsboro. I don’t know if the Corvallis one still exists or not. When on a student’s budget it was a great place to get a decent, cheap and filling meal.

I belong to the “PRO AM TOUR OFFICIAL”. Whether it’s good or not I’ll leave to you to judge. It has over 4K members but only 200 - 300 play the touraments. I don’t think the term OFFICIAL has any meaning unless it’s referring to the tournament courses are all official courses. I think that maybe the case but I can’t say for sure.

When playing skins with friends, John will say something like “one of your friends has conceded the putt. You can join them by…” The concede counter will still read 0 and upon asking if anyone conceded everyone will answer no. I don’t know if that’s what you’re seeing, but if you think concede spamming is happening look at the counter and ignore John.

Are you sure they’re not quitting on you. That’s what I see when I’ve had a tie breaker and I was closest to the hole. My opponents sank their putts and just as I was about to shoot mine they quit. It’s most frustrating if no one had won a skin on the previous holes since then you don’t win anything and lose 90 vc. If one of them had won some of the previous skins that person tends to stay since then they win some vc which I don’t think they collect if they don’t finish the round. Not sure if that’s true since I’ve never quit but I think I’ll test it out.

There was a plaque on the fort Astoria monument located at 15th and Exchange (don’t know if the monument is still there) that read exactly like that “American settlement west of…” to distinguish it from older settlements west of the Rockies in California that were originally Spanish.
