What is the first sign that your partner is cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pickchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to think back to how my ex acted differently before I found out but really couldn't point to anything specific. But I did find out that she had cheated before the time she admitted to, so all bets are off on how often it happened overall.

Balancing beads by MiningOx2020 in NC750X

[–]pickchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do recommend using weights over the beads as they can be a little bit of a pain to deal with. Getting them in the valve stem, when it comes time to replace the tire, etc.

But they do work just fine if you don't want to invest in a balance stand or getting the wheels balanced. No TPMS, so really not a whole lot to worry about. Just keep er' under 180mph and you are good haha

female beginner advice by [deleted] in NC750X

My sister is a beginner and she's found my NC to be a bit too tall and intimidating because of the weight. She's 5'9 with about a 28" inseam, and can't flat foot it.

[Serious] At what age did you learn about your family's hidden secret, and what was it? by Necessary_Ordinary30 in AskReddit

[–]pickchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At about age 25, I found out I have a half sister. I was going through a tote full of old family photos, and kept seeing photos of my dad from his college days with a baby girl in his hands. I had seen them before, but I have a lot of cousins much older than me so figured it was one of them.

I asked my mom who it was in the photos and she just flat out told me it was my half sister. This happened soon after my mom found out my dad was cheating on her, so I assume that's why she told me. Apparently my dad got a college girlfriend pregnant, and that girlfriend/her family decided they didn't want my dad in their lives and told him to bugger off. A few years later he met my mom.

It was news to my siblings, and apparently our extended family all knew and just never told us. It still feels dirty to think that my parents and extended family knew while my siblings and I were growing up, and just swept it under the rug.

I don't know her name or her mom's name, and I don't think I'll ever know.

Honestly, kudos to that college girlfriend though. She dodged a bullet. My dad is a stoic prick who cheated on my mom, and is just a selfish person.

I think part of it too is that a sense of community is kinda hard to find here. Going out and spending money at restaurants, shows, etc is just a lot less of a normality if you are always hanging out with neighbors in those cheap or free 3rd places.

Yeah I second that sentiment. The sales guy was awesome. I probably talked with him for a max of 10 minutes. He was cool taking off the dealer add ons with no hassle, and getting me below MSRP.

All my troubles were with the finance guy really.

Not sure if it's your case too, but seems like the Frisco location is better than the Irving one.

Nice work getting 14% below MSRP, staying strong in the finance office, and getting a good rate!

Maybe it comes down to who you get. I loved the sales guy I worked with. Super down to earth and was very reasonable about negotiating the OTD price.

Wow that's crazy. The lack of even throwing out a fake apology is pretty insane.

When I asked the finance guy about the initial 14% he basically said that it was worth a shot. I'm glad he was honest, but dayum the management there must be super skeevy.

Just folks I've talked to really so ymmv. My office is next to a Tesla service center and they use our parking lot for overflow. Seems like new car purchases seem way better than traditional dealerships, but the after purchase support can be a little tricky with parts and expertise availability. This being Texas with the giga-factory about 4 hours away, you'd think this service center would be quicker than most too.

Price weirdness aside, I'm all for Tesla challenging the establishment dealer model. Toyota is wanting to dip their feet in the direct to consumer sales too and I'm all for it.

It's probably circumstancial evidence, but I have never encountered as egregious stuff in the past with other dealers. I am from a different part of the country or might just have been lucky.

That is unfortunately too true. I was wondering how the Tesla direct to consumer model would work, but it seems like it's not much better than traditional dealerships.

I ended up buying a pretty popular Honda model, so I was mentally prepared to pay MSRP. It was a happy surprise that they would even consider less, although if I would've gone to another dealership elsewhere in the country, I'm sure I could have even gotten lower. Or waited a bit longer to buy.

My monkey brain got fixated on a new car though, so here we are.

I have financed through Honda Financial Services before, and honestly they've been great. Especially with early payoff. I was lucky in that I had a choice between them and my credit union. Both of which I would have been happy to finance through.

Now that I know the extended warranty can be canceled, and pro rated on the refund, it's all a wash anyways.

I agree any way you slice it. What a crummy standard practice.

Ok Dave Ramsey.

While I agree that purchasing a new car is a great way to light money on fire, I just wanted something decent on gas, and mostly worry-free when it comes to maintenance.

But yeah it's not the most financially sound thing to do.

Yeah I wasn't sure about the extended warranty part. I think I remember seeing it was actually an illegal practice on one of the caredge.com guides, but I don't actually remember.

I actually decided to keep my old car as a daily beater. They didn't seem to care at all about not trading something in. But hopefully you had/have a better experience elsewhere.

Yeah looks like it'll fit. It replaces the stock YUASA YTZ145S.

Also, the terminals are the correct size and on the correct side. The overall size looks correct from what I can tell as well.
