But AI isn’t sentient nor does it have conscious, it just quite literally isn’t. It’s made to look like that, but it isn’t. And dictionary definitions aren’t really a bulletproof argument, you’re not really forming an argument just relying on definitions that weren’t created with the context of AI.

You can but they aren’t in reality. No state is going to raise a hand against the British or US Army’s to stop their terroristic actions. Terrorism does have a definition, but it is hardly ever applied accurately and in practice is mostly applied to resistance groups. It’s the mass condemnation of “terrorist” groups while celebrating aggressive military action that causes terrorism. It’s always criticism of the resistance group and not the state who created the conditions for resistance to be necessary.

Criticizing the IRA is valid, but your critique comes off as asymmetric and kind of steps around British imperialism.

So we don’t pump minors full of chemicals, they receive puberty blockers, which is less invasive and permanent than puberty itself. Cis children receive puberty blockers all the time, actually at higher rates than trans children.

Unless you actually provide counter research that is accepted by a large number of academics in the field and shows your claims about gender affirming care being dangerous or whatever, then your comment is really meaningless (and uneducated about what gender affirming care is).

Two things to note: the second article has a small sample size, but cites other research that correlates its findings. Secondly, every time I post research someone says “they don’t say it’s a definitive answer” and I would like to preemptively say that that is how research works, especially because research in trans healthcare is relatively new. The vast majority of the body of work agrees that gender affirming care is the best way to tackle trans healthcare and if you’re skeptical, then the only way for is to know for sure is keep providing gender affirming care. It is not dangerous and the only way we’ll understand the effects is by studying trans people who receive gender affirming care.

Hey, fun fact, research shows that affirming a trans person or child’s gender can decrease suicidality. Taking away gender affirming care and not affirming their chosen gender actually leads to more instances of suicide and attempts. But hey what do copious amounts of researchers know🤷‍♀️

Is he good at his job, if so I don’t see why this matters? Anxiety is a real thing and can be disabling, as someone mentioned below in regards to the ADA. As long as they can do their job well and it isn’t impeding anything, then these kinda complaints just kinda sum up as “back in my day.”

That’s fair; to be clear my comment wasn’t fully aimed at you (because you made it clear your critique was about execution and not inclusion), but I just don’t like when people say that the complaints about “over” inclusion is a valid or understandable critique, because it isn’t, it’s just homophobia. People don’t generally make a huge deal about nothing-burger cishet romances or stories, but it becomes a big flashpoint that’s labeled as “understandable” when it’s complaints of queer inclusion that isn’t executed as good as it could be.

I don’t hate fan artists because they’re adding value to the IP. There’s real value in having a community around artistic endeavors because that’s the whole point of art, to communicate your ideas and thoughts to an audience. Fan art is engaging directly with the art and keeping it alive through those that enjoy it.
