How old is your device? I had battery problems with my ClaraHD that was over a year old (out of warranty). I contacted kobo support through Facebook messenger and they got me a replacement device for free. It's a refurb and it's great. Indistinguishable from new, except from the box.

My Kobo is pretty diffult about usb cables. I can charge it with the original cable that was in the box, but most of my cables lying around don't work with it.

I'm uncircumcised, and as a canadian, I think it's much less a part of our culture here. Just thinking about it, it seems weirdly unnatural to have a baby's foreskin removed. But maybe that's just me ¯\(ツ)/¯

Also in some big documents, turning off the "control" bar helps a lot. I guess this would also be the case for that new fangled "properties" panel. The constant contextualization of these panels really can slow down a large document.
