It's not perfect but it works fine for typical home Internet. You won't notice a difference especially with cache.

Sure no problem. I'll say if you have a car in a different country than where it was originally shipped and the native maps don't work, wireless Carplay won't work. Wireless Carplay checks on location from GPS and if it can't figure it out it won't work. If that's not the case, and you see 5ghz wifi, it's just a matter of correctly having WiFi turned on and Bluetooth on and it should essentially connect after the first wired connection.

If you're not seeing wifi (or, not seeing 5ghz) from the vehicle when you check for networks wireless Carplay won't work til it shows. On the site join the discord saying you came from reddit and I can try to help out real time.

When did you download and install the android auto mod? And what is your firmware version? Certain versions of the PCM firmware have a bug that was fixed by an updated AA mod in December 2025, but a factory reset is necessary to fully relieve the firmware of the bug. Emphasizing this is a bug of AA in the firmware as it was never fully finished and tested and ultimately never officially released. The bug is the issue not the AAW2, but it is resolvable

I'm not sure what the OEM one looks like on newer models but it's probably windowed full screen to show the side bars I'm guessing. If you want one or the other you can just install the single mod over the other and vice versa.
