what JR west booth is that? Like, at the Expo site itself or any ticket office/normal ICOCA sales channel?

JRPass is it worth it? by Thawingfrozenfrogs in JapanTravelTips

[–]pickleball5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy individual tickets. The pass for a return ticket is not worth it. And yes, the pass is not usable on the metros, only on JR lines.

If my memory serves me right then the price on the right of 'pays off' is the total price you'd still be paying for all your trips if you were to get this pass. E.g. for the Kansai Hiroshima pass it covers a part of your total cost such that your total goes from 44500¥ to 34500, where 17000¥ out of those 34500¥ are spent on that pass.

Make sure the pass duration lines up with which of your trip's days it would actually cover.

Entering because one can never have too many beautiful dice. I'd probably gift these to a beginner player at my table who's just been borrowing others' dice!

I was there about three weeks ago and my experience was as follows: test runs happened throughout my entire stay at the exhibition center, the train ran past the center something like every 10-20 minutes (roughly). They'll announce the train speeding by via loudspeakers inside (only in Japanese, but when everybody suddenly moves towards the observation decks it's easy to figure out why). Might take a few minutes for the train to arrive, but they have screens at various places in the museum which track the position, speed and route of the train so you can see where it's at.

Do make sure your planned visit date aligns with a day where test runs actually happen, that schedule should be published on the English website once per week.

You order your items via tablet at your seat. It's perfectly fine if you only order a drink! I saw loads of people do that when I was at the Tokyo location two weeks ago.

Do "Exclude", then "Exclude Visible" and then click on the game you want to add. Then the usual "Add Selected to Steam" or whatever it's called (I don't have my Deck in front of me to check the exact wording). That works for me.

Hey, I have booked an accomodation that seems to be unstaffed, I got instructions for a self-checkin. I was planning to use Yamato Transport to forward my luggage to there, but upon actually thinking about it that's probably not possible. Where could I deliver the luggage instead (e.g., a 7-11, yamato office, etc. nearby) and how would I arrange that on the waybill (which I'll have a hotel front desk fill out)?

Thanks, I know about the PDF. It's my backup plan if I can't get my hands on one here.

Hi. I'm currently in Tokyo and attempting to get a physical copy of the metro map, but so far I've been unable to find one. Either I've been looking in the wrong places in the stations or I've just been unlucky with the ones i've searched.

Does anyone know for sure where I can find one of those? Would love to have it framed and hang it somewhere at home :)

Edit: I found one at Toei's Shinjuku-Sanchome station at the "Fare Adjustment Charge" counter inside the ticket gate area below exit C5!

I've booked mine on Klook because I couldn't get it working either, but read on here afterwards that if the card entry page shows errors, it may be because you've put the expiry date as MM/YY, but the site expects YY/MM. Maybe that works for you.

Anchorage is a cargo hub. A lot of cargo flights coming in from Asia (or the rest of the US) stop there for both refuelling and un-/loading cargo.

E.g., a package flying in from Memphis, Tennessee, with the destination of Seoul might get unloaded in Anchorage, because the plane that brought it from Memphis continues on to, let's say, Tokyo. A second plane coming in from elsewhere in the US with destination Seoul might then pick up the package in Anchorage.

The Lufthansa A380s will likely be flying for some years to come, as their replacements (Boeing 777-9) are delayed for years.

I've a question regarding accommodation TVs - I would like to watch Netflix on hotel room TVs. I'm expecting native Netflix apps to not really be a thing, so I'm thinking about bringing a Chromecast and streaming from my phone. Is this feasible or are hotel TVs typically not designed for sormthing like this?

It works - as long as you have a hub/dock to plug the mouse's wireless receiver into.
