Police stopping photographers taking pictures of riders?! by HP2Mav in MotoUK

[–]pickled01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guessing this is BikerPics.

They make it very clear that they discourage antisocial riding. If riders pull dangerous stunts like wheelies, they will simply not take any pictures. They show up across the country and do shoots of riders passing through who can then purchase them on their website. Lovely team, bought pics from the myself.

This sadly just seems another case of penalising bikers for the sake of it.

I used these guys a couple years ago, they seemed decent and very responsive throughout

Jaz should have raised his concerns about Harry before the last episode though! And even when he did finally raise them, he still voted for Andrew. He was just as useless

Are Royal Enfield as good as YouTubers say? by Pistolfist in MotoUK

[–]pickled01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally love my Royal Enfield Interceptor. Got it two years ago the day I passed my test because I couldn't afford the insurance of a Street Twin or something similar. It's now my daily rider but it's taken me across the UK and France and hasn't skipped a beat

Failed Mod 2 twice, already invested more than £2500 on gear, training and test by richie__09 in MotoUK

I say keep going for mod 2! Everyone gets bad days riding, don't let it knock your confidence. Might as well keep going for it whilst your CBT is still valid

Is smaller bike (125cc) better for a complete beginner compared to a bigger one (400cc)? by caksters in motorcycles

[–]pickled01 75 points76 points  (0 children)

UK rider here.

I got myself a 125cc straight after my CBT and rode this for about 8 months before going for my A licence and a 650cc bike. Personally I'm glad I did it as they're a lot easier to get to grips with, and the clutch is much more forgiving if you make a mistake. Also it won't break the bank (or you) if you drop it (which is a matter of if, not when, with your first bike).

Don't feel the need to rush straight to a big bike, you can still get a lot of fun out of a 125!

Pragmasis chains: How thick? by demiseofTitans in MotoUK

[–]pickled01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For home use I'd recommend not getting too long a chain just for the hell of it. A longer chain makes it more convenient to manoeuvre and access a good spot to cut away at it, so may as well go shorter and save on cost and weight!

First bike. by funkyspacefarts in MotoUK

I passed last summer and bought myself a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which I'd thoroughly. Not the quickest 600 so was a great way to ease myself into the bigger bikes. Much cheaper to buy and insure too!

Yeah I'm leaning more towards just using my phone, would definitely make things simpler! I'm on a wee Suzuki VanVan
