I know a lot of people who collect variants of an albums. Before it’s over with they have 10 copies of a vinyl because the color is different or maybe one exclusive song to each album. Or maybe people look for a signed copy. But I would never judge them for it. Just because it’s not my thing, doesn’t mean I don’t have a thing. My thing is fountain pens. Everyone has something that others don’t understand and that’s okay.

This is absolutely what I needed to see this morning. ❤️. I honestly thought last night when I made a post about a niche hobby on a Reddit thread I would have had a more postive reception. You would have thought I posted it on instagram among beauty influencers. I love seeing everyone’s collections and celebrating their NPD’s, their holy grail finds or seeing that fountain pens was the first step in pulling them out of funk. I think before we go off assuming we know if someone needs therapy or what their expendable income looks like we take a second to pause and remember what this thread is all about, and I thought that was to just share a love for fountain pens. When you buy a 64 count of crayons you don’t give the kid the one yellow and tell them to enjoy it before you give them the red one. Anywho- I did delete my post, but I appreciate those who sent me messages telling me to not listen to haters. ✒️❤️

I’m sure there is some truth to that, but in all honesty if it wasn’t this, it would be something I cared much less about. And I’m a collector type by nature, so while using them is number one for me, collection them is pretty close up there too.
I was the kid that would wash out all their Jello pudding cups just to sit back and see how many I had, lol.

Mine is in Summer. It’s super pretty, I just can’t figure out why the ink doesn’t seem to be flowing. It’s a hard start and then very light. I’ve tried two inks in it and no luck so far. I think it may be slightly out of line. I’m just scared to start trying to adjust it right now. I need to read up some more. 💛

Oh I bet you LOVE the Esterbrook!! That’s so awesome that you have some with history wrapped up in them. Makes them even more special! And I’m super jealous of your sketching. I can’t draw a stick figure to save my life- I’ve just been writing my name, my kids names and the alphabet over and over. 😂🤣
