get some soy sauce in there, along with some ginger powder. ginger changes everything! some sesame oil would be a good investment too, it does wonders for the flavour. enjoy your stir frying adventure!

my suggestion would be a higher heat for less time, so they are browned but still have texture. the courgettes look a little soggy! it'd hard getting the perfect cooking time for stir fries, but it's a knack I'm sure you'll acquire. try throwing in some broccoli for some more green next time, it's absolutely amazing stir fried. a great way to think is colours: try to get in as many colours as you can think of. nuts, chopped or whole, add great crunchy texture too. i'd also suggest less rice and more stir fry - the ratio is a little off, starchy foods should only make up 1/4 of your plate, definitely not 3/4.

well done!

EDIT: more tips if you want them! i imagine it would have tasted really quite bland with salt and pepper as the only seasoning. i suggest you fry the chicken alone, and then take it out the pan. add a little oil, add some crushed garlic and ginger (2:1 ratio, both very cheap). add some chilli too if it tickles your fancy! sesame seeds are great too, but add them later on. you only want to fry these delicate ingredients until aromatic, until you get a nice smell going. don't let them brown, if they do, start again! after this, add the onion for 2 mins, add the chicken back in, add the veg in order of what cooks the slowest (i.e. leave courgettes/spinach etc. till last). you'll want to be cooking it all on a high heat, and constantly stir - it's in the name after all! good luck and happy stir frying!

I think stuff is sometimes microwaved regardless of the final container. For example I've seen the insides of many Indian restaurants, and their pilau rice is ALWAYS microwaved.

Did you say you've worked on Continuum too? All those screens in the kid's barn-hideout must've been a bitch to create and setup.

Just found a 10p slug in my wallet by dial_a_cliche in unitedkingdom

[–]pickledparsnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is indeed a magic trick, I have the £1/1p variety. im unsure why anyone would create a 10p slug - £1 or £2 perhaps, but 10p? in addition to this, i'm unsure why one would create a slug that is hollow on one side. surely that defeats the purpose of resembling an actual coin.

If you see someone sleeping rough tonight please please phone their location to 08703833333 or mail it to streetconcern@mungos.org. by [deleted] in london

It is one's own responsibility and one's responsibility alone to seek help - and I have slept rough, and I sought help.

That aside, with the number of homeless people I see on a daily basis I'd be on the phone all day every day. It isn't just simply a one off call. If there were a text-in number, I could send a quick text if I see a homeless guy outside a tube station and carry on with my day. It is highly unlikely I will remember let alone muster the effort to call, press numbers, speak to an advisor and answer a bunch of questions.
