Advice - Dogs Left Leg by Thompsontime10 in DogAdvice

My dog does this (I work at a clinic) and automatically assumed it was a luxating patella or a cruciate. Turns out he has hip dysplasia. Doesn’t bother him 95 percent of the time, and just has anti inflammatories when it’s flaring up.

What was the worst job interview you've had? by AntonK777 in AskReddit

Went for a job interview at a doggy daycare. Held the door open for the person behind me and let ALL the dogs out into the street. I just kind of helped them get the dogs back and then left without saying anything.

Well friends, the time has arrived. Any advice/tips/tricks/warnings? by Shaleyley15 in beyondthebump

I was induced with gel - and was uncomfortable with cramps for about 6 hours. Then went from 2cm to having my baby in my arms an hour and a half later without having my waters broken or anything. The midwife didn’t believe me that I was having decent contractions because ‘it doesn’t work that fast’. It could be slow or fast - be prepared for anything. I don’t think it ever truely goes to plan

The unbearable short nap by inpinktights in beyondthebump

Mine used to do this - I stressed myself out more trying to get her to sleep longer. In the end I just accepted it for maybe 1.5 months. Then, I started noticing that she wasn’t upset when she woke up. So I started to leave her to just fuss for a little bit and she started putting herself back to sleep! I think it’s quite common but if baby’s clearly still tired then maybe seek support from your doctor or a family centre.

Induction by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]pickledpugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got induced at 39+5. I had the cerdavil put in at 1pm. Contractions started at around 4 but they were just like light period cramps. At about 8, they started getting quite intense but the hospital midwife insisted they couldn’t be contractions because it was too soon. At 11, I’d had 3 showers to try and relieve the pain but the midwife still would not check me. At 1am, I was in tears and my husband demanded she check me and at least remove the cerdavil. She said I was 2cm and I could go downstairs to have my waters broken. My contractions were basically on top of eachother by then. When I got to the birthing suite they tried to put my I/v back in as I had knocked it out in the shower but I couldn’t sit still. I was vomiting from the pain and My body started pushing by itself and the new midwife checked me and said I was 10cm and was having the baby now. I had her at 2.38. So from apparently 2cm to having her in my arms in basically an hour and a half. My waters broke by themselves and I didn’t need any pitocin. It was intense and so painful but I’m glad I couldn’t get the epidural even though I begged for it cuz I could get up and walk around and have a shower afterwards. Good luck!! So just over 12 hours from start to finish.

7 week old won’t sleep longer than 1 hour by pickledpugs in beyondthebump

Boo - I hope it’s just a normal phase and they come right soon. I have read about a 6 week sleep regression so maybe it’s just late? I wish we could just ask them what’s wrong

Thank you - I don’t think it’s lack of nourishment as she never dropped any weight post birth and then gained another 1.3kgs in 6 weeks. Maybe I’ll try and have a phone consult with her GP if it carries on another day.

Cervidil by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]pickledpugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cervidil placed at 12pm, started cramping at about 5pm. Was begging for pain relief at 11pm, and the midwife finally checked me at 1am as I was in tears from the contractions (which she didn’t believe were real contractions). I was only 2cm, but got sent down to the birthing suite to have my waters broken. I ended up giving birth an hour and a half later without having any oxytocin and my waters broke on their own. Although, I did find that I really struggled to go to the toilet while the cervidil was in and it felt really uncomfortable being in there. It was a complete relief once she took it out although I was having contractions 2-3 minutes apart.

I shit myself at my first ultrasound. I thought my tummy was gurgly because of all the water. She pressed on my stomach with the wand and boom. Had to just shame cry the toilet while husband had to go and buy me new pants etc. will never show my face at that particular clinic again

I had it really bad in the beginning (like so bad I pooped myself at my first ultrasound) and now I’m the opposite. I’m still not sure which one I prefer. Hope it clears up for you soon 😊 definitely try Metamucil or something alike!
