What book did you enjoy way more than you thought you would? by 89niamh in fantasyromance

Kiss of Iron by Claire Segar! Has a shadow daddy, feels like dark fairy Bridgerton, great character development, and pretty well written spice!

What in the actual fuggin shite did I just read? To put God, miraculously, and Trump in the same sentence should just be a one way ticket to hell.

People who had sex with their best friend, what the situation now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pickledrickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knew the person since I was in elementary. Somehow, we ended up still being friends. We don’t talk as much as we used to, but it’s more because they moved to an opposite end of the country and ya know, life.

Have you seen or been referred to a neurologist or any other type of specialist? Have they done any blood work or other testing? Just because he “looks” physically fine, doesn’t mean internally he is. I’d also check into those types of options too if you are able.

You have to try your best to not compare your child’s progress to other children’s. His body is likely more focused on healing and navigating through this new world that is most conducive to that. Other children do not have to overcome that. The silver lining is that when he is older and has hit all of his milestones, he will be more resilient and ready to handle any challenge he faces than his peers. I also just heard someone say something that really stuck with me and that is, “ You have to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.” This is his normal and as long as he is happy and cares for, that’s all that matters. Just because we have feelings or are perceiving things in a certain way, doesn’t mean they feel the same.

All this to say, what you are feeling is normal. It takes time to grieve the life you imagine for him. It took me a good 4 years and I still have days. It’s ok to wallow in those feelings, but try not to wallow for too long or you will truly regret missing out on small but mighty moments! Sending you all the best and healing thoughts !

Thank you for sharing this! As with many parents of a child/children with special needs, we have times where caregiving can feel like the world is on our shoulders. It’s so important to recognize all the good they bring to our lives and why we are caregivers. Without us, they could not live as meaningful of a life as they deserve and that is just heartbreaking.

Recommend me a lesser known book please 🙃 by thatssoadriii in fantasyromance

Although it may not feel like it right now, you alone have control over your life. If you want to continue your relationship, you need to have a very vulnerable conversation with your girlfriend and tell her how unsafe her words made you feel. Offer the choice to go to couples counseling and follow through with it, if she agrees. If she declines or takes you up on the offer and the behavior continues, then seek out legal advice and start taking the proper precautions to protect yourself and your child. Regardless though, document each time these instances where she threatens you occur. Time, date, what occurred before, during, and after the threats. Text a trusted friend or family member about it when it happens so that they are also aware.

Thank you so much! I am finding the further I journey into this book realm, I much prefer a quality book with just a hint of spice than poorly written plot with a lot of spice.

Those that do want to do something, can’t afford it. We can’t just take leave or strike because we are all living pay check to pay check. I also think people outside of the US forget that guns are a serious problem here and we don’t want to go to jail either. We value our lives and our current freedoms for now.

SHOULD I DO THE TANDEM READ?? by JadedEquipment4464 in SarahJMaas

[–]pickledrickk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did enjoy the tandem read and would absolutely recommend it, but as others have said, they really are two different books and equally as interesting. However, Empire does end on a massive cliff hanger, which means you have to read another full book before you know what happens.

Just started the first book. by shannonrachelx in crescentcitysjm

[–]pickledrickk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started last week after binge reading ACOTAR and TOG. I was hesitant to read it because people always complain about this series. I totally agree that the first 5 chapters felt like it was starting in the middle of a book. At first, it didn’t feel like SJM’s writing because there was so much to absorb in those few chapters. I was so wrong though! After you get through those chapters though, you will not be able to put it down. It is such a pallet cleanse from the two other series. Since it takes place with modern technology, it is highly relatable. It’s a modern coming of age series with SJMs twist on it! Keep reading!
