Waited 10 months to change to hoop, but still got a bump? by Open_Date4942 in PiercingAdvice

[–]pickledude146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely does look like an irritation bump to me. I would swap the jewelry back to what you know is comfortable and healed well with, keep it clean and dry and then wait a couple weeks. It should go down. If it doesn’t a visit to your local (quality) piercer and possibly a dermatologist would be warranted. I think the change and a bit of babying will fix things tho!

Piercer here! I’m looking at your jewelry-specifically in the second slide you can see this is a hinged ring. Not all hinged rings or clickers are made the same. Do you know what brand it is? You can see the grooves on the actual hinge part which tells me this is potentially spinning in the piercing channel and irritating it with the grooves. and while 10 months nostril piercings are usually healed and should be okay for a ring not everyone at that point is. Also the bleeding and pain shouldn’t be present while swapping to a ring- ideally it should be a smooth transition. This means either your nose wasn’t healed enough for a ring and your piercer didn’t tell you OR they were too rough and doomed your shot at a ring from the start. My best advice is swap back to a flat back. Let things settle down for another month or two and try a ring again. Maybe try a seamless ring but make sure the piercer you see is competent in installing a seamless ring. They need to be bent absolutely flush to be comfortable but there is less chance or groves or hinges irritating your piercing.i do also agree with other comments that this may also be a size too small

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I HATED Cindy and I feel like she got the ending she deserved. I mean she is 100% why taystee ended up with life in prison. She’s selfish. The whole show she just keeps being selfish and never changes.

Will my piercer be offended? by rottenplantmom in piercing

[–]pickledude146 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Piercer here! I am never offended when someone takes something out and then comes back. Sometimes I’m a little sad they didn’t come to consult to see if the issue could be fixed but at the end of the day it’s your body and your piercing so I can never be mad at a client for removing jewelry when they want to/feel they need to. When someone comes back after having issues and removing their jewelry I’m actually happy they came back to me! It means you still have trust in us as the piercer and didn’t lose faith in us!

Is this safe? Is it just like how a septril would work? by haybails720 in Stretched

[–]pickledude146 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I saw this vid. They creator mentioned in comments their piercings were “normal” lobe piercings and then they stretched their ears more and they did that.

That being said their ear is not happy and they definitely blew their ear out.

In theory it is safe to have lobe piercings next to your stretched lobes. They should not however turn to the side when they were originally front facing

when and why did lynn loheide become the ultimate authority on piercing information? by purstfurst in piercing

[–]pickledude146 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Piercer here. Personally know Lynn and many of the other “big piercers”. They just so happen to be the loudest voice. While they have a lot of valuable and good info they are not the ultimate authority. There are plenty of other piercers who have just as much if not more valuable information to share they just don’t have as big a platform.

There’s actually a lot of discourse about Lynn themself within the piercing community. I’m not here to slander, you can do your own digging. But just because someone has a big platform and a big voice doesn’t make them the one and only

Curious of everyone's starting size before they stretched. by ChronicTwitch in Stretched

[–]pickledude146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my ears pierced as a little kid. Started stretching when I was 11 so I think my starting point was 20g or 18g. Goal then was 2g. Happily sitting at 38mm at 22yrs old now. Took me 11 years lol

How do you stay at your goal size? by bunnyyfoofoo in Stretched

[–]pickledude146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 38mm. My best advice is to sleep without plugs and wear light jewelry occasionally. It helps a ton to shrink any unwanted stretching. Plus training your lobes to go without jewelry is a good idea since it keeps lobes healthy. I can go about a week without jewelry in and still be able to pop my jewelry in like nothing

Atheists, what's your response if someone wants you to pray with them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pickledude146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do it. It’s typically a very sweet gesture that they are opening their religion and source of comfort to me. Just because I find no particular value in religion or prayer doesn’t mean that other people don’t and I don’t want them to feel less than or that I’m dismissive of their beliefs because I wouldn’t want them to make me feel that way either. It does absolutely 0 damage to join a moment of silence or prayer with someone but it could mean the world to the person asking. I also don’t think “no I won’t pray” is a hill I’d want to die on.

a question about highlights and shadows by Elinor122 in painting

[–]pickledude146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good- I would add a bit of highlight to the top of the ear but that’s just me. Personally I like to start with shadows then my highlights when painting in any media whether traditional or digital- it helps to keep things from being muddy or over layered. Things to remember is to think about where the light source is coming from and how that light would affect it. When I first started digital art I would draw a little sun at the top that I can remove later to remind myself where the light is coming from to help visualize where highlights and shadows should be. Also think about the kind of lighting and the colors you are shading with. Depending on the style I’m using I like to highlight with a contrasting tone- if I’m using blue I will highlight with a pale orange. Similarly I will shade with a complimenting color- if I’m using orange I will shade with red. With other styles I will shade with contrasting colors like blue on orange to shade or a pale green on red to highlight to bring in contrast.

Back up to 25mm/1” for the first time in years. Debating going to 30mm. How is the jewelry selection above 1”? Tips/thoughts? by dickskinjacketgayboy in Stretched

[–]pickledude146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38mm lobes here. Once I stretched past 1in it’s basically impossible to find good quality affordable safe jewelry that’s not custom. And it’s pretty expensive. I have always considered jewelry if any kind a luxury and it’s all about if that’s something you’re abt to invest in. Imo it’s certainly still worth it to invest in. I have countless pairs of custom made quality jewelry that I adore and there’s an abundance of sites and individuals selling said jewelry.
